May/June 2009
Dear Family and Friends,
As we have reached the mid-point of 2009, it is terrific to see
the progress that the Lord has allowed us. We are now in the
last year of this term and are looking forward to accomplishing
our goals before returning to the states for furlough.
The Bingerville church continues its progress and development.
This year, the Bingerville church has planted a new church in a
village in the far north of the country. Since 56 of our 60
converts there are illiterate, we are initiating a literacy
school there through the church to train them to read and write.
As well, the Bingerville church’s missions program is evolving
well. We are supporting seven church planting missionaries in
the countries of Côte d’Ivoire and Mali.
The Bingerville church’s evangelistic ministries of the literacy
school and medical clinic are undergoing improvements. Our
literacy school has 33 students taking the national exam this
year. If this year’s result is consistent with that of previous
years, we should have at least 28 who pass the exam and are now
considered literate at a junior high level. Of course they have
learned to read through the use of Gospel materials and
teaching. At the “End of the Year’’ ceremony this year, we have
many of our church members who will give testimony as to how
they came to Christ through the literacy school.
After 20 months of medical administration training in Egypt, our
Doctor Kadio has returned and is in the process of improving our
clinic. The government is building two new buildings for our
clinic that will be completed by the end of the year. This will
transform our clinic from an outpatient clinic to a small
hospital where we can deliver babies and keep our sick
overnight. As well, we recently completed a campaign with a
medical team through several of our villages where we treated
over 1,600 people - all of whom received the Gospel. The Lord
blessed with many decisions.
Please continue to pray for the construction of our church
building. We have completed the basement and foundation. The
weak dollar and rising constructions costs have made it
challenging. Thanks much for your continued prayer for this
request.
We are anticipating furlough starting in June of 2010. I should
be in contact soon with our supporting churches to see about our
visiting during that time to report on the ministry here.
Most sincerely in Christ,

Robert C. Mach
