Hello everyone,
Greetings from sunny, hot Riverside, California, where
today the thermometer hit 105! We are looking forward to
cooler weather by Monday. How thankful we are for
air-conditioning in the house and minivan!
Here are our current prayer requests. We are thankful
for the prayer and financial support on our behalf, and
for people who write to us.
1) Alethia's surgery (a hysterectomy) is scheduled for
this coming Wednesday, September 30th. Please pray for
all to go well, and for a rapid and complete recovery.
She should be in the hospital for three to four days. We
are thankful for the surgeon, who was alert in reading
the ultrasound and other studies to see the problem, and
that the surgery can be done while we are still in the
States.
2) After surgery, we'll begin to plan our return to
Perú. Please pray for wisdom as we decide when to
leave...definitely not for at least six weeks after
surgery.
3) Pray for us to be able to get meetings scheduled in
churches during this time that we are home. So far we
have only one meeting on our calendar.
4) The months of October and November are always
extremely busy in our Bible college in Trujillo, Perú.
Pray for strength for students and staff alike as they
wind down the school year during this season. Graduation
will be the first week of December..the start of summer
south of the equator.
