Greetings

For the longest time I’ve been trying to think up a nice letter to send, but I haven’t been able to get my mind into a “letter writing mode”, so I’ll just send you a little note.

Thanks very much for praying for us. It’s great visiting churches and seeing people, but we would rather be back in Perú now. We had a goal of returning to Perú in February, but that didn’t happen, so now our new goal is for July. We’ve gained about $200 a month and there are some indications that there might be more. At the moment, we need about $700 a month more support before we can return to Perú. We’d like to be there by July so I can be at the Bible college for second semester.  We hear good things about the churches in Poroto and Samne. We’re looking forward to seeing them again.

We’re still up in the air about whether Daniel and Timothy should return with us to Perú or whether they should stay here in the States to study and work.

Thank you, Jim and Alethia

Tim had abdominal pain and couldn't sleep much last night. Then this morning he was hot and shivering, so we took him to the Riverside Community hospital. After several hours he got a cat scan that confirmed it was his appendix. So this evening he will have an operation. He's busy on his cell phone texting everyone.

Thanks for remembering him in prayer,
Jim and Alethia

The appendix had ruptured before the operation, so Tim is on antibiotics and is being drained. He'll probably stay in the hospital at least until Saturday. We took him for a walk down the hall. Alethia has been with him all day, so maybe she'll be able to send more information this evening when she gets home.
Thanks for praying,
Jim and Alethia

Tim tried to start eating solid food, but then had to stop. The Dr. thinks he has an abscess, so he will have another cat scan tomorrow, and probably have another drain put in.
Thanks for praying,
Jim and Alethia

Tim wanted his Mom with him early this morning before he went for his cat scan. By the time we got there he had thrown up the dye they had given him for the scan. The scan didn't take too long and when they brought him back at about 9 they said they should have the results in a couple of hours. I decided to wait till then. Tim was served a liquid breakfast and ate some of it. But then he felt nauseous and hardly ate any of his liquid lunch. Finally, at 4:00 they told us the results. There was no abscess and no bowel obstruction. So he could have normal food and maybe go home tomorrow. By supper time he felt better and ate and kept it down. So we hope to be able to bring him home tomorrow.
Thanks again,
Jim and Alethia

Tim had a good night and ate some breakfast. Sarah came with Alethia and me to pick him up. As Tim came out the door he was happy to breathe the fresh air. We're really glad to have him home again.
Thanks for praying,
Jim and Alethia,
