Summer 2009
Dear Co-workers in the Peruvian Andes,
There is an article on the Baptist
Mid-Missions website (www.bmm.org)
about retirement … written by me. I do
hope you will look at it and pray that it will be
effective. I have been working on a guest apartment.
It’s not glamorous, but it is cost-effective at
$1.00 per day per person.
Dina, my Peruvian co-worker, and I made a trip
to Quillabamba, planning to go 4 hours further into
the jungle. We were going for a church anniversary
where we had been asked to speak to the women. She
has prepared the same lessons to present in Quechua
as I have in Spanish. However, we couldn’t go
further into the jungle because of a strike. The
anniversary had to be postponed to a future date. We
have other speaking invitations for the end of June
and July.
The
‘Rincon Cultural” (the Corner, my outreach center)
is doing well. I am using the book of Luke,
that was given to me by a church, for my advanced
English class. For the 10-14 year olds, how would
you answer the question: “Who is God’s
representative here on earth?” I’m glad to have
Diana there to answer the questions, too. As a
graduate of our Seminary (Bible Institute) in
Urubamba, she knows her Bible well.
The dollar is weakening again. I am so
grateful for each of you who are faithful with your
support of prayers and finances. May God bless you
as you serve Him in the place He has given you.
Love and prayers,
 Lois Hutchinson
