October 2009

Hello from Costa Rica,

We are finally together in Costa Rica studying at the Instituto de Lengua Espanola, in the capital city of San Jose. The teachers are very good, helpful and patient. Our daughter, April, is here studying as well. It has been fun hanging out and studying together.

Our grandsons (L to R): Aiden, Will, JD and Luke; our newest grandson,
Kyle Joseph, born to Tiff and Chad Sept. 4th, 2009

This has given us opportunities to meet other students who are also preparing for the mission field and to be an encouragement to one another. One of the first topics you share after introducing yourselves is where will you be serving God after language school.

In San Jose, we are renting a house with Rusty and Rissa Innerst and their two small children. They are also studying at the Institute and preparing to be missionaries to Peru. We have known them since 2001 and when we first went down to the jungle.

Our upcoming plans are: Wendy is currently attending the Intensive Course until November 20th, and will return home on November 21st. Pat will finish the first trimester on December 11th, when he will return to Council Bluffs. We are all looking forward to being together as a family at Christmas!

Our prayer requests are: Comprehension and usage of the Spanish language
Transition being away from family God would receive the honor and glory for what He is doing in our lives.

Praise: Progress in learning the language
Safety and good health

We want to thank you for your continued prayers and financial support!

In Christ Alone,
Pat and Wendy Campbell

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
