By Jeannie Blaylock First Coast News JACKSONVILLE, FL --
A woman named Priscilla Andreason, a Buddy Check survivor,
has given bears to chemo patients for years.
We call her The Bear Lady. Since 1979 she's donated more than 6,000 bears here on the First Coast
and around the world. She even ships the bears to Poland and Iceland free of charge.
During the holidays, Priscilla's home in Riverside burned and her husband was laid off from work.
She's always just scraped together funds to buy bears. The fire, though, really set her back.
Priscilla wrote a poem which comes with each bear.
One line says, "If you need to cry, don't be afraid to cry on me. I'll dry."
Cancer patients love the bears.
Please remember the bears must be new because cancer patients can't risk getting germs from well-used bears.

If you will send me the names of yourself, family and friends
who have either "Survived" to be PRAISED or those who didn't so they can be honored, I will list them on this page...

Below is a poem submitted by a very good friend of mine, Debbie Pyles
and a Breast Cancer survivor.
It helped her through the rough times following her diagnosis
and through her treatment
and she asked if it could be placed on the page to help others inflicted with Cancer.
