Fighter pilot in WWI, shot down and badly burned over Belgium/France. Rescued by a French farmer. Suffered back and leg injuries. Never fully recoverd.
The farmer went to the cemetary to put flowers on his grave, assuming he had died, but discovered he was still alive in the hospital. Visited him regularly in the hospital.
Uncle Bill went to visit the farmer.
