Today In Paradise
Luke 23:42. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (KJV)
This Is A Portion From The Most Memorial Scene Earth Has Ever Witnessed.
Three Crosses Are Silhouetted Against The Sky.
Three Bodies Are Agonizing In Pain.
On The Center Cross Hung The Hope Of All Men.
Jesus Could See Beyond The Cross,
Beyond The Pain, The Agony,
Beyond The Dark Clouds, And The Despair,
To A Place Of Green Pastures, And Quiet Waters.
Jesus Could See The Father's House,
And Close By, A Garden, Which He Called Paradise.
The Word Paradise Is Mentioned Only Three Times In Our KJV Bible, And Always Associated With Heaven.
Paul Says That He Knew A Man (Most Likely Himself) Who, During An Extreme Trial Through He Was Passing, Was Caught Up Into It.
2 Corinthians 12:2. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4. How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. {lawful: or, possible} (KJV)
Again In Revelation John Speaks Of It.
Revelation 2:7b. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (KJV)
According to the early church Fathers, the paradise in which our first parents dwelt before the fall still exists, neither on the earth or in the heavens, but above and beyond the world. (Strongs)
To A Man Who Only Asked To Be Remembered Jesus Says,
"Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)
Let Us Think Of That Word "Today."
Most Of The Times When We Think Of Our Lives We Have Future Plans.
Tomorrow,
Next Week,
When I Get Out Of School,
When I Get A Good Job,
When I Get Married.
We Have Plans For Buying A Home,
Raising A Family,
Then Finally When I Retire.
But There Are Some Things Which Just Crowd Themselves Into Our Schedule.
The Apostle James Says It Best.
James 4:13. Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14. Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (KJV)
Sometime God Speaks And Says, "Today," Then All Earthly Plans Change.
This Man Who Spoke To Jesus Knew What Was In Store For Him That Day.
It Would Be Agony, Thirst, And Taunted By The Multitude.
He Only Asked Jesus To Remember Him, He Received Far More.
The Day Ended For Him In Some Land Of Peace And Rest,
Far Away From The Pain, The Shame, The Jeering Throng, And The Watching Soldiers.
That Land, Near Or Far, We Know Not. But Jesus Says, "With Me."
You May Have Recently Lost A Loved One Through, Sickness, A Tragic Accident, Or, By Some Other Means.
Jesus Had Said, "Today….with me in paradise."
The Old,
The Young,
The Frail,
The Timid,
The Most Cherished Loved One,
Our Dearest Friends,
Must Go When Jesus Says, "Today."
Let Us Come To Jesus Today And Ask Him To Remember Us As That Agonized Person Who Was Hanging Beside Him On That First Good Friday Many Years Ago.
He Has Promised That He Would Turn No One Away.
John 6:37. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (KJV)
