Behind me is the awesome, but expensive Laekjarbrekka restaurant. It's right next to the tourist office, but don't let that discourage you.

The beautiful cemetary in Reykjavik seems to be the only place on the island with any trees.

Icelandinc Hot Dogs

For some reason, Iceland has awesome hot dogs(pylsur). Food in Iceland is very expensive, but you can get a hot dog on the street for ISK200($1.50). These pictures are of Bæjarins Betzu, the famous hot dog stand that has people lined up at all hours of the day and night. I ate a dozen or more. Tony talked about them non-stop after we had them.

How to make an Icelandic Hot Dog

They put the onions(fresh and fried) in the bread, glue it there with mustard and remoulade(a mayonnaise sauce flavored with herbs and mustard and capers) and top the sausage with Ketchup and SS Mustard (Which I bought, but it is like a spicy mustard). The dogs are a blend of lamb meat, which may be hard to find in the U.S.

The remoulade they used was "Gunnar's Remulaði" if I had only known that was the one I would have gotten a case! Some versions have chopped pickles, I've had trouble trying to find the exact recepie.
