The origins of the African American Claud family are not discovered and remains a part of my journey.
It is not known if Philip J. Claud is the original owner of my Paternal Ancestors. What is known is that on December 16,1856 an appraisement of the late Philip J. Claud's estate was taken and recorded in Will Book 16, pages 5-6, in Courtland, Virginia, Southampton County.
