What I found time saving is on the panel that you are going to polish - polish any area that will need polishing with the detailer and/or by hand (around the door handle etc.). Polish these details all the way to grade S before you polish the whole panel.

We used a cotton polishing buff (with the stitching only close to the center area) on an angle drill that runs about 800 rpm to detail around the edges, rivets and areas that the Cyclo can not reach. This seems to be working only OK but I would like to find something that works better yet.  Someone suggested I try a "mouse" sander with a pad and covered with sweatshirt cloth.  I have NOT tried this but is sounds intriguing.

The Makita pictured here ran out of batteries too too fast.  We switched to a Milwaukee powered angle drill (750 rpm) and that is working better.

If you polish by hand be careful with anything stronger than Nuvite A - You might even find S is better. You can easily leave scratches that will take a lot of effort to remove. You put a lot more pressure with your hand than you can with the cyclo.

If you end up leaving some black residue it is easily removed with Glass Wax in a pump up sprayer and any micro fiber cloth. Lacquer thinner and paint thinner also work but they leave a bit of a mess.
