A Day With Bobby Sherman
Sunup to sundown Shindig's swinging bachelor's busy,
but it's really all a labor of love
Bobby Sherman, the popular star of Shindig, is nineteen years old, doesn't go steady, but does date - and he prefers girls who are not in show business. He is a native of Van Nuys, California where his father owns a dairy company. He still lives at home because wants to, speaks foreign languages, including Russian and French, has studied physics and electronics, plays every conceivable kind of instrument - drums, trumpet, etc. He made a movie in April based on Shindig, co-starring Donna Loren. In the future he hopes to be a dramatic actor, as well as a singer, and he has the good looks to accomplish this feat. He eventually wants to marry, but not for a long time. He made a personal appearance tour of the U.S. for Decca Records and enjoyed every minute of it. He is a delightfully charming young lad, intelligent and he loves his work to the point that he says it is not work for him. He advises teenagers to really plan what they want to do with their lives. "Pick out something you love and then work hard. When you love what you're doing, it is much easier to be a success."
