Bobby's Love Letter To You
My One and Only Love,
A Letter of Love is the most personal thing that can
ever pass between a boy and a girl. It's a very precious and beautiful way to
express the sweetest thoughts he has for a girl, the thoughts he might be a little too shy
to say when he's with her.
You and I have a greater problem about being together
than do most Luvs. We're separated by so many miles, by wide rivers and towering
mountains...vast distances, both of miles and of minds. This is because we know each
other in the most unusual way, too. You know me better, in a way, than I know
you. You know what I look like, but chances are I don't have a picture of you
yet. You've heard my voice, either on TV or from my records, but I haven't gotten to
hear your soft, shy voice on my telephone.
Still, I feel that I know you better than any adult or
non-romantic person would ever believe. Every time I have a concert that's a hit, I
hear your voice, a whisper buried deep inside the roar of the audience, breathing Love
words so quietly into my ear.
Whenever they tell me at the record company that
millions of girls are buying my latest record or album, I know that somewhere, one of
those discs is under your precious loving care. And whenever Tiger Beat is nice
enough to print my picture, I know that I am with you in your room, smiling at you in the
moonlight when you're just about to fall asleep, and laughing a bright "Good morning,
Babe!" when the sunrise comes streaming in through your window, and a busy day is
ahead.
So, for now, this is the way we'll be together, you and
I. And I'll try to be brave, and be satisfied with this, until that wonderful,
joyful, oh-so-lucky day when we finally meet face to face! I know it will happen,
Babe! Until then, please wait for me. I'll be watching for you, always.
Peace & Love,
Bobby
