Disc 1
will cover all the non-passerine species. This Disc will be the last to be published. However the Doves, Parrots and Woodpeckers from this Disc are included on the already published Disc 3.

Disc 2
including all the sub-oscine passerines (Ovenbirds, Woodcreepers, Antbirds, Cotingas, Manakins, Tapaculos, Flycatchers etc.) is now available for purchase. Two hundred and seventy two species are painted, described and if the vocalization has been recorded anywhere it is on the disc (There are over eight hundred vocalizations on the disc).

Disc 3
includes all the oscine passerine species (Swallows, Wrens, Thrushes, Jays, Warblers, Tanagers, Troupials etc.) The Doves, Parrots and Woodpeckers are also included on this Disc for a total of two hundred forty species.

The Land Birds of Southeast Brazil is a Standalone Checklist Edition of The Birder's NotebookTM. It installs and runs as an independent piece of software on your computer, but, if you have purchased the Standard Edition you can also use it with that software. Each species is displayed in GG SOFTWARE'S exclusive Species PageTM format which lets you rapidly access all the species' information and facilities comparisons between species.

Disc Installation Information

  • If you have already installed Disc 2 on your computer and are about to install Disc 3
  • You should have no problems installing Disc 3 if Disc 2 is already installed. After you put the disc in your disc drive, the Install dialog box will display and give you the option of installing some or all of the files from the disc to your computer.

If the installation does not begin automatically when you insert the disc into the drive, run the "Setup.exe" program from the disc

Always check the 'Yes, run the Program File' option at the end of the Setup procedure

  • If you have already installed Disc 3 on your computer and have not yet installed Disc 2
  • If you install Disc 2 and Disc 3 has already been installed, much of the newer information included on Disc 3 will be deleted. (Individual pictures or vocalizations from Disc 3 will not be deleted but you will have no way of getting to them.)

If at all possible, install Disc 2 first. If not, you must reinstall Disc 3 again after you install Disc 2. When you do this its better (but not essential) to first UNINSTALL Disc 3, then install Disc 2, then install Disc 3. If you don't uninstall Disc 3 first then when you put Disc 3 in the drive to reinstall it the Install dialog box will not display and you will have to run the "Setup.exe" program directly from the disc.

If you don't possess a copy of Disc 3 but it is installed on your computer then don't install Disc 2 over it as you will no longer have access to any of the Disc 3 information!

  • A patch to correct page displays for wide screens (being tested) is here.

Download the file 'WBird.zip' file to any location. Extract the 'WBird.exe' executable and replace the existing 'C:\Program Files\GGS\SEBrazil\Wbird.exe'
