Checklists for current Multimedia CDs
If you already own a Multimedia CD produced elsewhere containing songs or other information about birds
chances are good that you can set up a small checklist so that you can run the CD directly from the Standard
Edition and so build your Electronic Library of Birds on a species by species basis. Then you just click on the species
and the Standard Edition tells you which CD to put in the drive!
Better still, with products like the Birds of Bolivia 2.0 you can download the CD contents directly to you
hard disc and avoid having to mess with the CD at all.
We try to support all current Multimedia CDs. If you are a registered user of The Birder's NotebookTM
send us an email indicating what CD you would like a checklist for and we will email it back for
free. If we don't have
it you'll have to send us a copy of the CD for us to make it up free, except for the return postage on the CD you
send us which you will have to include with the CD if you want it back.
If all you need to do is to record one or more individual tracks from a Multimedia CD our new
Recorder module, available in the Standard Edition, lets you easily do just that with no loss in quality compared to the original.
This is because the recording bypasses the speakers and the recording quality can be set as high as 48000Hz/16bits which is as good as
as any digital recorder in use today for bird vocalizations. (Of course, if the original recording has been compressed then
it itself will be of lower quality than the original).
We don't currently support recording an entire Multimedia CD (the
CD Import function, available in the Standard Edition, applies only to Audio CDs which have much less on them) but if you're
interested in doing that please contact us.
If you have contracted for special development services from us, please enter your name and the service required below before purchasing.
