Once Upon a time...

In the beautiful little burg of San Rafael CA at a Coffee House named the Valeska a great big group of writers used to get together and belabor each other with their scratchings. Robert Anderson, who wrote Booneville was the putative founder of this group, but when he left the management proved to be so obdurate that the group moved down the street to the Royal Ground, where it flourished into the zine you see before you. Some of our members are truly dangerous. Even the ones who are not immediately dangerous are dangerous.

This particular (or not so particular) journal was founded by three survivors of the Valeska, geronimo bassetti, Mark C Peery and Mark Vronin. While they are still active in the group, which is variously called the Wired Writers Workshop or the Wierd Writers Workshop, other more radical elements have largely taken over the management of this journal. Some might construe this as a schism between the wierd and wired, but in truth everyone here fits both descriptions.

Sam Bass is now largely responsible for the management of the journal. The twin Japanese brothers G.P. Basso and Z.D. Basso assist with publication and the others sit around and carp and complain.

Since this is the least selective of all journals numerous poets, writers, poetasters as well as the mentally questionable write reviews and poetry here. Members of the group have been published in any number of national publications and, under other names have published important books in important fields. We do not publish our pictures for fear of assasination plots.
