PICAXE Development Page

How do you build the Anderson proto-board?

The instructions for populating the top of the Anderson proto-board that Steve handed out can be found at the phanderson web site. Go to Assembly Instructions If you haven't built the board yet, you might want to check out the Anderson "Half-board" project below.

To get the Windows based development environment, go to Free PICAXE Programming Editor Click on the Software tab at the top of the page.

Where can you get PICAXE components?

The PH Anderson web site is a great place to get PICAXEs and components for PICAXE projects. He lives in Belair and works in Baltimore so is local to us. Stuff from him comes real quick.

If you want to get the radio parts, TX433 or RX433, we get them from Quality Kits in Canada.

Where can you get PICAXE documents?

If you want a book, the main book on the PICAXE (perhaps the only book) is the Dave Lincoln - Programming and Customizing the PICAXE Microcontroller. You can get it from PH Anderson or from Amazon.

But there's plenty of free documentation in pdf form. To get the official PICAXE Manual, go to the same site you got the Programming Editor PICAXE Manual Click on the Datasheets tab at the top of the page. It has 3 sections, each a pdf.

PROJECTS

Some of the projects may need to have the advanced setting to compile. To do this in the development environment go to: View --> Options --> Editor. On that panel go to the Compiler section and click the Advanced radio button.
