died in Northampton Co., PA.
Daughter - Susannah Beisel

Any Information about this Beisel family
or others Beisel families in the area would be appreciated.
Carothers
Massie Ann Carothers
(c. 1802 - 1876) sp. David Witherspoon
Massie Ann Carothers was born in the West
Indies (don't know where but there was a Jane Carothers christened in the
Bahamas in 1806 - is she Massie Ann's sister?) In 1830, at the time
of her marriage, she is said to have been living in Baltimore, MD.
She married David Witherspoon in Franklin Co., PA and spent the rest of
her life in that county at the family home of the Witherspoons. The
only other clue that I have, is that she was of an "old Cumberland Co.
family."
Any information or clues would be appreciated.
Case
Nancy Ann Case (c.
1805 - 1858) sp. Archibald F. Crisp
According to her marriage license she was
born in TN. Her parents names are given only as C. & N.
Case - I have been told that her father's name was Caleb and her mother's
name was Namus. She married in TN and then moved to Livingston Co.,
KY. Any clue on who Nancy Ann Case's family was would be apprecitated.
Clark(e)
I have a couple of Clark(e) most wanteds:
Thomas Clark(e)
(c. 1688 - 1769) sp. Ann(e) (unknown)
He came to Chester Co., PA from where??
Who were his parents? Died in Chester Co., PA Children: David,
Joseph, Mary, John, Ann, Rachel, Rebecca, Susanna, and Margaret.
I assume all children were born in Chester Co., PA
Mary Clark(e)
(c. 1752 - ) possible name of the wife of Thomas Franklin. Their
children were born in the 1770's in SC, probably Chester Co. They
may have been married there - other possible places NC or VA. Later
the family moved to Jefferson Co., AL where Mary and her husband Thomas
Franklin both died.
Permelia Clark(e)
(c. 1777 - ) possible name of the wife of William McGregor. Married
about 1795, maybe in Charleston area of SC. Children born 1796 -
1812 in SC. After last child was born the family moved to Hopkins
Co., KY (Also a possible connection to Jefferson Co., AL before 1826).
May have a family connection to a Davis family.
Cook(e)
Capt. George Cook(1730
- 1799) sp. Elizabeth Johnson. George Cook was born in Scotland.
Was sea Captain on the English ship "Enterprise." Married his wife
in Calvert Co., MD in 1760. (She was a native of Calvert Co., MD)
When the Revolution started, it is said that he took his ship and sided
with the colonies as Capt. of the newly named ship the "Defence" for the
Maryland Navy. Retired to the Frederick/Montgomery Co., MD area.
According to census records they had a few sons and at least 1 daughter.
The daughter's name was Nancy. Who are the other children of this
couple? Did George Cook have any other relatives in the States?
What about family in Scotland? No will has been found for him, but
his wife came from a family with many lawyers, could it be that they didn't
live in that area at that time and that a will is someplace else?
Capt. George Cook is said to be buried in Frederick Co., MD.
Elliott
(John ?) Elliott (c.
1717 - bef. 1793) sp. Margaret Hamilton (c.
1721 - 1798) This family was from PA - possibly Cumberland and Franklin
Co. areas. Margaret Hamilton Elliott died in Franklin Co., PA.
(John ?) Elliott - he is said to have been
related to the Elliott family of Com. Jesse Duncan Elliott (war of 1812).
Margaret Hamilton - she is said to be of the same Hamilton line as Alexander
Hamilton, possibly descended from one of Alexander Hamilton's uncles.
Children: John, James, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Mary "Mollie," Jenny.
Mary "Mollie" Elliott(c.
1751 - 1833) sp. James W. Witherspoon.
Possibly born and died in Franklin Co.,
PA. (see John & Margaret Hamilton Elliott above) Children: John, Mary
"Polly," Margaret, James, Rebecca, Elizabeth and David Witherspoon.
FitzGerald
(John ?) FitzGerald (c.
1770 - ) sp. Deborah Clark(e)
Both families were of Franklin Co., PA.
I only have the names of two of their children - James and Elizabeth.
This FitzGerald family was Presbyterian and their descendents were members
of the Falling Springs Presbyterian Church in Franklin Co., PA
Franklin
Lewis Franklin
(c. 1806 - ) sp. Susannah (unknown)
Lewis and Susannah Franklin were married
in 1833 in Caldwell Co., KY, she was married under the surname name of
her 1st. husband - Hart. This marriage ended bef. 1843 when Susannah
married her 3rd husband James Simpson. Was Lewis Franklin dead by
this time or were they divorced? It is possible that they devorced
and he married again. Who were his parents and where did he come
from before moving to Caldwell Co., KY. Children of Lewis Franklin and
Susannah were Elizabeth R., Joshua and C. S. (possibly Clarrisa S.).
Thomas Franklin
(c. 1750 - 1826) sp. Mary (possible Clark, see above). Don't know
where Thomas Franklin was born or who his parents were. His children
were born in Chester Co., SC. Thomas Franklin died in Jefferson Co.,
AL. Many of their children settled in Hopkins Co., KY.
Hamor
John Hamor (1782

come from? He and Margaret Wilson were married in Northumberland
Co., PA. They both lived and died in Point Twp., Northumberland Co.,
PA. Children: Martha, Abraham, Jane, Samuel, Margaret, John, Sarah,
William, Charles and Mary Hamor.
Hoffman
Jacob Hoffman
(1795 - 1877) sp. Sarah Troxel. I have seen him listed as being born
in PA or DE (could be Delaware Co., PA ?) They lived and died in
Northumberland Co., PA. Would love to know who his parents and siblings
were. Children: John, Samuel, George, Daniel, Mary, Joseph and Isaac
Hoffman.
Lilley

Co., PA. Need to know who his parents and siblings were? Children:
Sarah E., Mary, John D., Julia A., Ella/Ellen Mae and David J. Lilley.
Marze/Myers
Martha Jane Marze/Myers
(1846 - 1936) sp. Samuel Johnson Crisp
Who was she? Why all the various surname
spellings? Real brick wall here! Born in KY, married in
Caldwell Co., KY and died in Hopkins Co., KY. May have had a brother
who lived in VA.
McGregor
William McGregor
(c. 1772 - c. 1833) sp. possibly Permelia Clark (see above) This
guy is a real mystery! Where was he born? Some say that he
was born in Scotland and came to Charleston, SC at age 9, however there
is some pretty strong evidence that he was born in NC and came to SC as
a adult... It is assumed he married in SC - at least his children
gave SC as their birth place.
Children: John, Samuel, William, James,
Moses, Mary, Dison/Dyson McGregor (also may have had a son Levi McGregor).
Nunn
Eleanor Nunn
(b. bet. 1787/1792 - ) sp. Job S. Truitt
Married in 1809 Livingston Co., KY.
Have been told that she might have been born in DE, however I suspect that
she is from the Nunn's out of NC by way of GA. It may also be that
Job S. Truitt knew her from GA and moved on to Livingston Co., with the
Nunn's who migrated there.
Robins
Emily Robins
(1836 - 1916) sp. William G. Hamor
Emily Robins lived and died in the Point
Township area of Nothumberland Co., PA. She had a number of brothers
and sisters living at the time of the 1850 census, however her father was
appearently dead by this time. Her mother's name was Sarah.
I would love to know who her father was and what her mother, Sarah's, maiden
name was.
Rupert
Lydia Rupert
(c. 1819 - ) sp. John Hoffman
I found Lydia Rupert's name from information
where her daughter, Sara E. Hoffman Balliet, is buried. Sara's parents
were listed as John Hoffman and Lydia Rupert. I knew her name was
Lydia and her aprox. birth year from census records, however Rupert has
turned into a bit of a brick wall for me. I assume that she was born
in PA, however I don't know what area. Her children are found in
Turbotville area of Northumberland Co., PA.
Sedgwick
Thomas Sedgwick
( - 1697/98) sp. Elizabeth unknown
Thomas Sedgwick may have come from England
to Calvert Co., MD. I have seen him listed as the son of Samuel Sedgwick
of CT and I have seen it stated that he was not his son. Samuel Sedgwick
was born in CT, however it appears that he is thought to have gone to England
to live. Is there a connection between these two families?
Who was Thomas Sedgwick who shows up in Calvert Co., MD and is he related
to the Sedgwick family of CT?
Wallace
Hannah/Susannah Wallace
(c. 1795 - aft. 1850) sp. James FitzGerald
Have seen her name as both Hannah and as
Susannah. According to census records, she was born c. 1795.
The family lived in Franklin Co., PA and she was probably born in Franklin
Co. or a neighboring Co. in that area. There are Wallace families
in the area, but I have never seen her linked to any of them. Children:
Elizabeth, Thomas Clark, Jane and James D. FitzGerald. Would love
to know who Hannah Wallace's parents and siblings were.
Witherspoon
James Witherspoon
(1675 - 1759) sp. Ann Walker
James Witherspoon was born, lived and died
in Scotland. He and Ann Walker were the parents of the famous Rev.
John Witherspoon "the Signer" and past Pres. of Princeton University.
I have seen conflicting reports as to who this James Witherspoons parents
were. While the options are all in the same family, it is important
to have his parent documented as to which line of Witherspoons he was from.
James Witherspoon
(c. 1730 - c. 1770) sp. unknown
Son of the above James Witherspoon and Ann
Walker. Came to America, settled in Lancaster Co., PA. It is
said that he died in a riding accident, leaving at least 3 sons.
I have been told that he married in PA, but that the record has not been
found, nor the name of his wife known. Who was the wife of James
Witherspoon of Lancaster Co., PA? Did she re-marry after her
husbands death? If so what was her new surname?
