Phyllis died as the result of an automobile wreck, on Sunday, May 25,1880. She was crushed between two cars, while parked on the side of theroad. She and some friends were trying to jump her car off after itstalled. A boy, who was smoking pot, "didn't see the two cars" andslammed into them.
