I was born in White County, Tennessee, April 24, 1832.
Enlistment: In the Fall of 1862 about September.
I was engaged in the battles of Chickamauga, Franklin, Murfreesboro,
Nashville, and in numerous skirmishes. I received no disabilites in the
service.How did you get out of the army? Just after the Battle of Nashiville, in
December 1864 as I remember, possibly in January 1865, between Nashvilleand Franklin, a Federal Charge separated myself and several others fromour
command and rendered it practically impossible for us to get back to our
command.Were you ever in prison? The war was almost over-fighting in one section
had about ar in fact ceased and I walked to my home in Putnam Countywhere I
remained _____the short time between that date and the final close of the
ward.Were you paroled? No. I got out of the army in the manner above stated.
Did you take the oath of allegience? No
Married? yes size of family - Myself, my wife and a single daughter
My wife is 72, my single daughter living with us is 28 years old.To what sex do your children belong? 6 daughters and 4 sons. I havenene
married and one single. I have four married sons and five marrieddaughters
and the single daughter. I am not able to labor any. I live on my farm.I own about 200 acres of land located in the Fourth and Fifth Civil
districts of Putnam County. The most of it is rough mountain land, my
personal estate consists of 2 head of horses, 3 head of cattle, 12 head of
hogs, some farming implements, etc.My wife has no seperate estate.
On 3rd July, 1916, Dr. Lex Dyer M.D. stated that Jasper Henry had senile
debility due to the fact that he is 84 years old.Jasper later sent a note to the pension board stating that he was in his
87th year.He had letters of support from Ernest H. Boyd, County Attorney dated Nov.
1st, 1923Another statement of support was signed by Alex West who stated hebelonged
