Artwork, needless to say, has gone to the "back burner" since I moved
here to Clarkdale to take care of my mom. I have about 20 unfinished
paintings stuck away, most of them scenes of Jerome, ARIZ., an old mining-
town that clings to the side of a mountain, just a few miles above here.
My painting-corner is new on the front porch, so wind and weather is a
factor. But mainly I have been too distracted by the worries and respon-
sibilities I have now. An artist needs either physical solitude or the
ability to shut out worry and distraction if natural creativity is going
to work. This is becoming more and more difficult. But my mom's needsare
