The Fallen as Elder
Gods: The Cultist Priest
The Creation of the Fallen
"After more millennia had past, The Age of Creation ended. Astran could again see that the other Deius where not happy with their creations. They still yearned to create more and greater beings. Astran showed them all how to use their ability to create one hundred creatures in their own image and of their own realms. Idderan created the Earth Elementals and their ilk. Jorgius created the Fire Elementals and others of their kind. Neurin created Water Elementals and the other elemental water beings. Elonas created the Air Elementals and things of like force and power. Some feelings of cooperation still held with the Deius and they worked together to create Dragons. After the Dragons were made Trodon created Seraphs, beings of light. He gave them even greater power than the others combined had given dragons. And finally again, Beseten created the Shiatan, beings of darkness and spirit, using all the knowledge he gained from watching the creations of the others. All of these creations had the powers of the realms of their creators."
"What Astran could not foresee was the fact that Trodon’s Seraphs and Beseten’s Shiatan took after their creators too much. The Seraphs went into the world, trying to correct all that was wrong, while the Shiatan went about wreaking destruction where ever they went. Astran could not condone the destruction of any form of life, so was forced to leave Gathis as it was for more millennia. Because the Seraph and Shiatan were completely autonomous, with self will and awareness, they did not have a true place in creation. They made their own place. Astran began to call the creations of Trodon and Beseten, The Fallen."
"During this Age of the Fallen, the Seraph and Shiatan grew in skill and power. They out paced the Elementals, for they had no limitations on them as the Elementals did. For example, the Water Elementals only held sway over the various bodies of water on Gathis, and the Earth Elementals were only limited to effecting things of the earth. But the Seraph and Shiatan, had none of these limitations. It did not take long for them to realize this, and soon they began to research and study, trying to find ways to surpass even their own creators. They found ways to tap into other dimensions, side realms caused to be made during the initial creation or left over from the cosmic dust. With this power they devised spells and magics. These were not the same as those of the Deius but they were just as powerful."
"After three millennia had passed, both the Seraph and the Shiatan thought they could take control of their creators, and thus gain their powers. War broke out among the creations of Gathis. This war raged for a long time, destroying much of what the Deius created and changing for all time other things. When it finally ended, only five of each Elemental survived, with only three Seraphs, and four Shiatan. In order to hide from the anger of the Deius, the Fallen secretly built seven obelisks in Gathis. Each one shielded and hid the powers of the remaining Seraph and Shiatan. Astran and the other Deius were powerless to locate the Fallen. Astran knew it was only a matter of time before the Fallen made a mistake, and used their powers. He would be ready for them, as the other Deius, to destroy their creations when the time came. The remaining Elementals, fearful of the Fallen, also hid themselves in secluded and unpopulated places."
-From the Tale of Creation
History of the Fallen
Just after the Age of Creation during the
times
of the Deius' restlessness, Trodon was contemplating his next creation.
He was experimenting with contacting other planes of existence. It
was in one of these planes he discovered the link to the Elemental
Planes.
He discovered that beings of great power lived on these planes. The
other
Deius were delighted and begged Astran for the knowledge of how to
bring
these other beings into the world they were creating and give them a
material
body there in which to live. Astran could see that the Deius where only
going to cause trouble if left to attempt such a thing alone. Together
the Deius created servants of vast power, subserviant to
themselves and able to channel the Deius own energies so they could
help in the shaping of creation..These were the Deva, lesser aspects of
the Deius themselves but wihtout the initiative to act without the
Deius permission. The Deius other than Astran,
still
yearned to create more and different beings but without his guidance
and
teaching they would only unleash chaos that was not intended by the One
who Astran could still see and channel. So Astran showed them how to
use
their ability to create creatures in their own image and of their own
realms.
Each of the Deius then found an elemental realm that was suited to
them
and began to create and give form to the elementally aligned beings
that
lived there. At first they were simple constructs and beings of almost
pure
elemental control but after a bit of experimentation and some working
together,
other races and creatures were brought into being. These races
had
their own will and freedom of movement and purpose.
Astran could see
the
creation process going on forever and causing a loss of direction and
discipline
to the world and so limited each Deius to one hundred such beings. Some
were given the ability to procreate with each other and so a new race
of
the pairing of these creatures would come into being. This is where the
fey races and cross species races came from. Also a slow evolution
began
with these life forms that would come to be the lesser races As a
final joint
creation
the seven Draco were created. This powerful creatures were given
a joint
connection
of many of the elemental powers that produced the beings and races of
free will and were given great ability with tapping into that elemental
power.
Trodon waited and watched. Having first discovered the outer planes and their sentience and helping in the creation of others, he wanted to create the perfect beings. Each individual but unable to procreate and so could never become a race like the others. They woud be like the Deva but would not need the Deius' power in order to act. He took his time because he had to make them immortal so that they would not come into being only to devoured by the power theywould wield. The key was to try to create beings like the Deva or Draco and other greater elementals, that were connected to a plane and yet separate and having free will and the ability to tap into their plane to perform great works without having to gain that power formt he Deius. Within the Positive Energy plane, Trodon found the workings of a sentience and brought it into being on the Prime Material. He made it so that these beings would have a love of life and order and would do nothing to bring hurt to the world of Gathis. He called these the Seraph meaning the bringers of light. But it was beyond even Trodon's ability to understand what free will and power would do to these creations. As with the other creations of the Deius. Trodon brought into being one hundred Seraph. After many millennia passed the Seraph had became corrupted by their abilities and the fact that the lesser races of Gathis had began to worship them as gods. They had learned to tap their inner power and their connection to the outer planes to wield magic that Trodon had not considered to be something they could understand and use. This gave them magic that almost equaled the Deius' own.
Beseten saw the power of the Seraph and also
had for even longer than Trodon been using the power of the outer
planes
to bring mischief into the world. At first it was only spirits of
negative energy and shades to possess the lesser creations of other
Deius.
But after the making of the elemental races and the Deva, Beseten
brought into being within Gathis the greatest of his
creations,
the Shiatan or the decievers. Because of his earlier experiments
producing
the shades and undead spirits, only 40 Shiatan were brought into being.
These beings of negative energy had all the power the Seraph had
attained
but drew it from the Negative Energy plane. The Shiatan were created by
Beseten to be his agents of malice, hate, envy and change with only the
desire to
manipulate, control or bring
destruction and chaos to all that the other Deius had created.
At first
the Shiatan only wanted to attack and kill other beings, and caused
great
destruction
over areas of Gathis. This allowed the Deius easily notice their
mistake
in permitting such creatures as this to have freedom on the world and
so
they sent their other creations to stop them. The Draco and the
Greater Elementals were given instruction to hunt them and destroy
them.
Many of the Shiatan were thus destroyed, leaving only 24 to change
their ways or be discovered and die. So in order to survive,
the
Shiatan became more insidious, hiding and manipulating other lesser
creations
to cause their malicious plans to succeed. It was some of these
Shiatan that first gave up much of their power creating an obelisk form
in order to hide from the Deius and their forces. Though it was
slower
and caused them to be patient and more intelligent in their plans, the
result was the same, the world became more cruel and chaotic as races
began
to war and segment, each believing they were the desired race of the
gods.
Both the Shiatan and the Seraph realized their
power and rulership over the lesser races. They began to gather forces
together and gain worship from them. Setting themselves up as Gods on
Gathis,
they began to become even more powerful and this power corrupted their
purpose. Trodon had brought the Seraph into being as agents of his will
to bring good and order to the world of Gathis, basically to protect
it.
But the Seraph made their own plans for the world and seeing it as
flawed
and with little purpose took it upon themselves not to protect the
Deius'
creation but to mold it into the perfect world they envisioned
individually.
The Seraph in taking the worship of lesser creations turned on their
creators,
the Deius, and along with the creations of Beseten, the remaining
Shiatan, they
decided
to take the reigns of power away from the Deius and rule the world as
they
saw fit. Half of the 100 Seraph rebelled against the Deius ins this way
and hid themselves in the world inorder to better control it without
the deius perception.
Some were worshiped because of fear and through
force, others
because of benevolent rule, but in either case it was something the
Deius could not tolerate. The Deius began to interfere personally using
their Fana
bodies in the hunt for and extermination of these they now called the
Nephalim
or those that had Fallen and taken to hiding int he elements and
creations of Gathis. The War of Great Powers, the Fallen and their
creators the
Deius, changed the face of Gathis as it had once been. Vast, one time
fertile
areas became deserts, islands broke apart and sank, the earth itself
was
broken open and water filled the underground recesses and caverns
below.
Through Shiatan manipulations and magic and the genetic encouragements
and social and breeding experiments of the Seraph, many of the lesser
races
came into being, not created by the Deius or through evolution but by
the
Fallen's interference while trying to be the creators that only the
Deius
could be. Further infuriated, the Deius, systematically tracked down
and
destroyed the Fallen but seeing the new races, that had came to be
under
the Fallen's control, as only victims in it all, they left them to make
what they could from out of the destruction. Most hid themselves away
and
segregated themselves in far away and protected areas until it was all
over.
The War of Gret Powers took a turn for the
worse when one of the Fallen encouraged the creation of science and
technology
beyond the understanding of any other. The machines and abilities
that came from his influence threatened the Deius themselves. This
caused
the Deius to retreat from the world for a time. While they were gone,
the
Dracos they had created began to lose without their support and created
the race of Eldar Dragons to help them in their ongoing war against the
Nephalim.
Fallen battled against Fallen for territory and influence over the
world
at an accellerated rate trying to take as much as they could while the
Deius seemed preoccupied and away from Gathis. And during this time
many of
the Fallen were destroyed by their own kind or found ways to insinuate
themselves
into the working of Gathis, becoming part of the lesser races or even
elemental
forces hiding in the world itself.
When the Deius returned they found the world
in a chaos beyond what they were expecting but they had used their time
to plan the destruction of the most powerful of the fallen and their
armies.
They had traded the largest problems they had been facing for many
smaller
and more cleverly hidden ones. The new race of Dragons did not follow
them
loyaly and began to fight amoungst themselves. Many of the newly
created
races began to openly live on the world and war against each other for
domanace and teritory. In order to bring some peace to the world
and end the threat of the Nephalim once and for all, the Deius brought
forth
Greater Elementals known as the Demolishers into Gathis from their
primal Elemental Planes and
bound
them to the World. These they used to destroy the Fallen that showed
themselves
with an open use of their other planar magics. Four Greater Elementals,
one
of
each of the major sources of elemental strength, would converge on any
of these magics if they were used to warp reality or breach the
dimensional
barriers. This insured that any of the Fallen still alive would no
longer
be able to openly act on any large scale without tempting their own
destruction.
The War against the Fallen had
become a War of Great Powers that raged over the face of Gathis for
millenia
until finally the forces of each were scattered around the world. Some
hid themselves under its surface or in the great watery depths, no
longer large enough to threaten it any longer, while others hid almsot
in plane sight but within the structures of the new races that had been
created. The Deius again
retreated,
this time to allow the world to heal on its own. They had seen what
their
mechinations and creations had done to their once near perfect creation
and bound themselves from ever interfering directly with its shaping
ever again.
The lasting symbol of this binding and the War of Great Powers is the
Gathis'
own creation of the Blood Lines that criss-cross it's surface
attempting
to once again bring balance and heal the damage casue to it.
Only those Fallen that were the earliest to submerge
their
power into the secret obelisk forms or those clever or intelligent
enough
to hide in a way that the Deius could not discover until such time that
they could finish their obelisk, survived. At the time the War of the
Fallen
ended their were only 18 Shiatan and a 12 Seraph that had been able to
do this and survive. During the War of Great Powers, only seven of
these were destroyed. Since that time, those that are still hunting
for the Fallen have discovered and eliminated four more. One of the
last of the battles
that destroyed a Shiatan was what had caused the upheaval known as the
cataclysm that destroyed the homeland of the elves. Another
caused
the southwestern mists that hide the lands of Parnum and Arkaan from
the
world. This leaves ten Shiatan and
nine Seraph still active or hiding in some way in Gathis. Below
are the descriptions of four Shiatan and three Seraph. Any destruction
of one of the remaining Fallen will bring on
some
form of geophysical change to the face of the world. Such is the power
of these creatures and the energies needed to desrtoy them.
Gathis is a world in balance between opposing forces, the main design of which is elemental. But there is seven forces that actually bring it all together rather than four. These forces are air, earth, fire and water but also space, time and thought. The mix causes the contention between good and evil, law and chaos. The Fallen became something that unseated this balance and so had to be destroyed. The legacy of their actions is where the problems now facing the world originate but they were only the catalyst, no longer the actual threat. It is this lasting imbalance that they left in their wake that brings about the need for heroes to emerge from out of the peoples of the world and bring about change.
The Fallen and their influence in Gathis
The Fallen are composed of two groups, the
Seraphs and the Shiatan. Both are products of the Deius of Gathis, and
are supernatural beings. Tapping into the external remaining power of
the
primal creation of the universe they unleashed the energies that we now
know as Magic, the Arcana, Ars Magica and a dozen other names. Wielding
this power at whim they were able to become gods in all but name. But
even
with all this power they wanted more. Not in all cases for selfish
aggrandizement.
Some had altruistic reasons, only wanting to make the world more
perfect
or beautiful in their own view. For whatever reason each had, their
wills
came into contention with the wills of their creators and they desired
to take their creators place as gods.
The Seraphs are benevolent, and they try to
help all creatures of Gathis to thrive and reach their maximum
potential.
But as beings of great power and will they only see this potential as a
means to make the world better in their own judgement. Seeing the will
of others as a mistake of the Deius, they tried to bring the other free
willed beings under their domain in an attempt to bring about paradise
in Gathis. Those that worked against their will they destroyed. This
led
them to also wish to achieve godhood for themselves and wield the power
of the Deius. They are beings of the Positive plane, created from the
energies
found there by the Deius Trodon.
The Shiatan are malicious beings, bent on
undoing all things that have been accomplished on Gathis. Their hunger
for power and destruction led them to destroy all things they found
useless
to themselves. Tearing asunder the walls that separate the planes they
found other beings that they could make serve them and brought them to
Gathis. The Deius had found the spirits of the elements and imbued them
with material substance to form the Greater Elementals and other lesser
elemental beings. Though the Shiatan could find these spirits and bring
them to Gathis, they could not create forms for them. This led them to
desire the creative power of their own makers and so they attacked the
Deius to gain it. Their energies located by the Beseten came from the
Negative
plane and so the Shiatan are beings brought from out of that plane.
Both today struggle as they always have against the rule of the Deius. However, they do so now hidden away from the Gods, secretly and quietly after there terrible loss in the war with the Deius and in the War of Great Powers. While once the Fallen had infinite forms, able to shape change at will, the current forms of the fallen are limited. Each Fallen is now locked into two possible forms. There total power split and greatly reduced (as part of the hiding process) between the two forms. The first form is one of pure energy, positive energy for the Seraphs and negative energy for the Shiatan. This form is the strongest of the two forms of the Fallen, at least the more difficult to defeat, but is rarely used because of the danger it brings along with it. Any time this form, the Fallen's natural form, is taken there is a 30% chance that the Deius will become aware instantly and take action to destroy their former creation. For each hour this form is maintained the chance increases 5% until the Fallen is discovered or returns to his other form. This is the Natural form of the Fallen, though much less powerful than when it acted freely in Gathis because a great amount of the Fallen's powers is always being used to keep them hidden from the Deius or was lost in the creatoin of their obelisk form. The second form taken by the Fallen is known as their obelisk form and it's creation was something achieved differently by each of the Fallen. During the war while the Fallen built their obelisks, they became aware they would have to pick a single form to hide from the Deius. Each Fallen picked their own form, and tied it into the masking abilities of their own obelisk. That chosen form is the one the Fallen takes on Gathis today, unless forced otherwise. The making of the obelisk form weakened the Fallen. They no longer can travel the planes as they once did without actually casting a spell. they can take no other forms freely without using the magic they have learned. There energy though tied to the respective planes from which they were brought is no longer infinite but trapped within their Obelisk and their two forms. Thus they can be destroyed even by those that are not Deius. This trade of power was needed so they could hide themselves from the Deius. Without this sacrifice the Deius would be able to find them because they could not mask such power from them for long.

The Fallen are beings of pure energy. The Seraph
are entities of the Positive plane while the Shiatan are entities of
the
Negative plane. While the Seraph were brought into existence by Trodon
millions of years ago in his pursuit to create beings in his own image,
the Shiatan emerged much later and were brought into Gathis by Beseten.
Once there were a hundred of each, but now they number only seven.
There
are three Seraph. There true names are Aeoli Ayesha, Escilis and
Bergenat.
The four remaining are Shiatan and their true names are Wello, Bapthos,
Grihmaht (Rariok) and Saccora.
The Fallen wish to fulfill their ancient quest to surpass all the Deius. While Seraph would never hurt the good creatures of Gathis in any way, however trying to claim what they feel is their proper place, they have caused great trouble to many. They are not evil, but the Seraph simply think that the Deius are misguided and petty, and intend to remake the world in what they feel is the proper state in which it should have been created. On the other hand the Shiatan believe that by infiltrating the mortal world they will gain power over the Deities. Toward this end they constantly strive to dominate and trick the mortals to do their bidding. They relish in the thought of destroying all things good.
Description: Seraph, in
their natural form appear as sparkling
balls of radiance while Shiatan are globes of darkness that are like
holes
in space where no light can penetrate. Both are strangely drawing to
the
eye and yet difficult to focus upon. They are only ever seen as this
when
they choose to reveal it or when their obelisk form is defeated.
Anytime this rare defeat of a Fallen's obelisk form happens, they
instantly
appear at their obelisk in their natural state. They must stay in this
form for 24 hours before they can gain enough energy to hide again from
the Deius and their other enemies.
When they take their true form they receive their
maximum Hit Points for their Hit dice (8 Hit points per Hit die), gain
50% magical resistant (100% vs. Abjuration and Invocation/Evocation
spells
against Seraph and 100% vs. Alteration and Necromantic spells against
Shiatan
and this type of spell will heal the Fallen a number of Hit Points
equal
to the spells level) and are not affected by attacks from non magical
weapons
of less than +3. Any creature of Hit dice less than 5 cannot even
attack
the Fallen in this form or take any action against it at all even if
they
have a +3 or better weapon unless they first successfully make a saving
throw against death magic. Those that fail are unable to take action
against
the Seraph though they are free to act in any other way.
The Fallen are immune to paralyzation, poison, sleep and other effects that would only work against a physical body. They cannot starve or suffocate and do not tire. Their form is such that it is not able to be effected by anything that is not magical or supernatural. Those creatures who have special magical attacks can damage or effect them. This includes all breath weapons. Because of the Fallen's extraordinary intellect and wisdom, they are unaffected by Illusions of 1st and 2nd-level. They are also immune to the spells cause fear, charm person, command, fear, forget, friends, hold person, hypnotism, ray of enfeeblement and scare . The Fallen regenerate 4 hit points per round of physical damage. If They are brought to zero or less in their true form they are destroyed permanently.
Combat in True Form: A
Seraph will seldom attack without
provocation,
though it will always attack evildoers caught red-handed. Whenever
possible,
a Seraph will persuade other creatures to attack in their stead. Since
they are highly intelligent, the Seraph will frequently use spells from
a distance before closing with its foes. Shiatan are terribly
relentless
in combat. They like to attack in the most destructive way and in such
a way to prolong the chaos of battle and the suffering of their foe.
This
may mean they will attempt to keep their distance using spells to
weaken
the target and cause as much confusion and pain as possible before
coming
in for the kill. They both have the abilities to use magic as a 15th
level
wizard, and a 15th level priest. This magic requires no components,
because
the Fallen long ago learned the rudiments of a magic similar to but not
the same as Deius Divine magic, giving them the ability to use magic by
tapping into the energy from their own forms. The Fallen can cast one
wizard
spell and one priest spell per round in addition to attacking
physically. The Fallen can also render themselves and up to
1,000 pounds of additional matter ethereal at will.
Furthermore, They can use the following once per round, one at a time:
The Fallen can drain a persons life energy. This is in the form of a mental attack with a range of touch. When They physically attack they may strike twice a round for 2d4 +2 points of damage. If desired by the Fallen, his attack also requires a save vs. Death. If failed, the target loses 1d4 points of Constitution. When the target's Constitution score reaches zero, the target dies instantly (all life energy drained from the body). Lost Constitution points will return at a rate of 1 point per month of total bed rest or one per two months of moderate activity (nothing strenuous). A Heal spell will restore 1d4 lost points, and Restoration will restore 1d4 + 4 points (both can be cast only once per target for any specific group of a single Fallen's attack).

The Obelisk Forms
As stated above each of the Fallen in order to survive by hiding were forced to take a single form before the end of the War of Great Powers with the Deius to elude thier search and so survive. These forms hide the Fallen completely from the Deius as long as they do not return to there natural forms. These forms indicate the personality and attitude towards the world of each Fallen. This is very important because it points out once again that each of the Fallen are individuals with their own ambitions and ideas, not simply powerful monsters. Along with each of the forms listed there is information on each of the separate Fallen's personalities, their locations, and there influence on Gathis and involvement in the world today. The following will tell you about each of the remaining Fallen of Gathis.

Aeoli Ayesha is a gentle and reclusive being. She
is usually tolerant of others, but can be very dangerous when
angry. Her manner is pleasant and her continence eerily beautiful. She
is
a rare creature that many cannot completely describe. A cross
between
a Djinn and a Storm Giant, she is a creature that gains respect and
appreciation
for her power and majesty from most others she encounters. In most
cases
those that know of her exsistance tend to revere her but try to keep
their
distance, respecting her privacy. There are some that worship Aeoli
Ayesha,
even now. Some tribes of the lesser races, such as goblinkind, kobold,
and gnoll refer to her as the Noble One. If a proper name is ever used
it is Ariana, meaning the High Queen
Aeoli Ayesha resembles a well formed human Female of gargantuan proportion, 24' tall and weighing 10,000 pounds. She has pale violet skin and blue black hair and silvery gray eyes. Her eyes seem to glow like lightning behind a thunderhead. Aeoli Ayesha's garb usually is a short, loose tunic belted at the waist, thrown over her left shoulder with her right breast exposed. She wears sandals or goes bare footed, and wears a headband to hold her long hair from her face. Aeoli Ayesha usually wears a few pieces of simple, but finely crafted jewelry: anklets, rings, or circlets being most common, that are usually made of silver with emeralds and sapphires of great size. Aeoli Ayesha will usually carry pouches attached to her belt. These hold a few tools, necessities, and her panpipe.
Aeoli Ayesha's Tale: As Trodon was contemplating his
next
creation he was experimenting with contacting other planes of
existence.
It was in one of these planes he discovered the link to the Elemental
Planes.
Beings of great power lived on these planes and Trodon decided to
create
beings like these Elementals that were connected to a plane and yet
separate
and having free will and the ability to tap into their plane to perform
great works. Tapping into the Positive Energy plane, Trodon found the
workings
of a sentience and brought it into being on the Prime Material plane.
He
made it so they would have a love of life and order and would do
nothing
to bring hurt to the world of Gathis. He called these the Seraph. But
it
was beyond his ability to understand what free will and power would do
to these creations. After many millennia passed the Seraph had became
corrupted
by their abilities and the fact that the lesser races of Gathis had
began
to worship them as gods. They had learned to tap their inner power and
their connection to the outer planes to wield magic that was not
planned
for them to have. The Seraph turned on their creator and along with the
creations of Beseten, the Shaitan, they decided to take the reigns of
power
away from the Deius and rule the world as they saw fit.
Aeoli Ayesha was one of the first Seraph
created.
Being one of these first Trodon had instilled more time and care in her
creation. Though Trodon did not know it, even he was unable to create
the
free will that he bestowed upon Aeoli Ayesha and the other
Seraph. these came from the plane he had tapped to find the power for
his
creation
and were part of the original giving forth of the original One. Given
the
freedom to do as she willed upon the face of Gathis, Aeoli Ayesha was
completely
engrossed with the wonder of it all and journeyed every part of the
world.
She found it all beautiful and a balance of health and growth, a cycle
of life and death that renewed itself. Nature, and the order of things,
as the Deius had created it was an almost perfect work. But, Aeoli
Ayesha
found one thing disturbing. The world was covered with desecraters,
lesser
creations that only seemed to do harm to the world and each other.
These
tribal and clannish beings were always warring over land and
possessions,
killing each other and destroying nature in their attempts to find some
purpose in their pitifully short lives or a meager amount of power over
the world or others while they lived it.
After many years of watching these lesser
beings, Aeoli Ayesha came to a plan. With the powers that Trodon had
given
her and those she was able to discover and learn for herself, she could
appear to these beings and through the power the only thing they
understood,
Power, take control of them and teach them to live in harmony with the
world and each other. This is how she made her move for control of the
world. One by one she would appear to the tribes and clans of the
lesser
beings, taking a form that they would respect and honor and took
control
of them. One by one she would raise a generation of the lesser
creatures
in a way that promoted peace and understanding of others. One by one
she
would go to a different race and through her powers bring them together
and living under the rule of good. But each time no more than the
passing
of one or two of the beings generations they would revert to their old
ways. Some because of some evil bent in their very creation, others
because
outside tribes or clans, other races or even the interference of
another
Seraph or Shaitan would bring them to a state of war. It seemed that
even
with the vast power given to her she could not realize her dream of a
perfect
world on her own.
Aeoli Ayesha retired then from the worries
of the world and set about study and contemplation of her want for the
world. It occurred to her that her very existence came from the being
of
the first creator, the One that had caused all to be and if she could
be
found and brought to Gathis by Trodon then why couldn't others like her
be brought her by her. She began to journey the planes and found those
of the elemental lords. With her power and personality, she was able to
come to terms and befriend some of these and made a deal with them over
the rule of Gathis. Most of the lords were neutral and would not
interfere
but Asimeer Hadji, the greater lord of the genies, gave to her his
support,
alliance and friendship. As a gift to show his trust and acceptance of
the plan for the world of Gathis, Asimeer Hadji gave her a set of
panpipes.
These pipes would call a genie to the prime material and bind it to the
world.
Aeoli Ayesha started to write and play the
music of the djinni, working magic that created the objects that would
bind a genie. She sang of many things in order to make them all
different
so that no one could know all the items of binding. Some were bound to
small things like a piece of jewelry, and others to large stones the
size
of a house. Bringing the genie to Gathis she once again began her work
in Gathis. Traveling once again to the tribes, clans and races of the
lesser
beings she gained their trust, encouraged their respect and then forced
them to worship her as the generation was raised under her benevolent
rule.
Unlike before, as she was happy with all that she had made instead of
leaving
them to their own instincts and the prey of others in the world, she
called
a Genie and his retinue to take her place as their ruler and be her
agent
in the world. As both king and high priest for the goddess Aeoli Ayesha
they ruled honorably and wisely and granted favor on all those under
their
care. She worked across the world stretching her control over vast
areas
and through the help of the genie she controlled them and the genie
rulers
would use their reality bending powers to bring themselves and Aeoli
Ayesha
into control of these beings and through conquering the creatures she
would
be able to control the world. As more genie worked their magic, the
lesser
creations continued to worship Aeoli Ayesha as their god.
It all seemed to be going along as
planned. much of Gathis was under her control. But then it began to
came apart.
The war against the Deius began, and though Aeoli had many armies and
followers
to martial against them, when the time came to do so the Genie rebelled
and kept their own power over the lesser creations as their minions and
slaves. Aeoli Ayesha was crushed. She had dealt in good trust with the
elemental lords but the Deius had made a pact of their own with them
and
brought the Greater Elementals to fight against the Shaitan inspired
open
conflict with the Deius. Aeoli Ayesha had never wanted to usurp power
from
the Deius, she only wanted to give the lesser beings a world they could
live in with peace. But she realized now that her way of doing so had
been
part of the betrayal the creations had made against their creators. The
Shaitan and the Seraph both had overstepped their place and were now
coming
to a fall. As the war was turning against what the Deius were calling
the
Fallen, she had so far been mostly unnoticed. She saw how many of the
other
Fallen were creating a form on Gathis so that they could remain here
and
hide from the punishment of the Deius. These Obelisk forms were clever
and greatly taxing to create. Much of her power would have to be
forever
expended in the making but it seemed the only way to continue with her
ideals and the work she felt needed to be done. Though she did not plan
to take from the Deius their power and worship she now saw that they
were
mistaken in the way they planned to allow the world to evolve. And when
they started to tear down all she had already done in making the world
a better place she decided that she needed to remain on Gathis and
continue
her plans when the time was ripe.
Using what power she still held over much of the Genie Realms, she had them build an intricate maze to protect her Obelisk, and then wrapping herself in the guise of a great Djinni lord, she had them build her castles all over the lands her loyal Djinni still had possession of and began to rule from different places so as to never be discovered. As the ages passed the Deius defeating the other Seraph and Shaitan, missing her allowing her to continue her empire building. This continued for many eon until another form of creation appeared on Gathis. The new races were more empowered, freer and able to use magic greater than the lesser creations, yet not as herself and those others the Deius had come to name the Fallen. She watched for awhile but then lost interest.. Before she new it they began to interact with her Genie realms. At first this seemed fine. The new races were becoming part of the plan under the control of the Genie who paid homage to her after those that had rebelled had been sent back to the elemental planes. These she still had under her control were bound to the land and the service of the races so they could not again turn away from her and her plans of world domination and setting things aright. But just as things seemed to once again seem to be falling into place, the new races began to manipulate the Genie. The fools had somehow let the new races discover their weakness and that which bound them to Gathis. It was all she could do to keep herself from being discovered while she tried to bring things under control but finally, her attention to the problem came to late, and there was nothing she could do. Taking her fondest treasures she moved to her most inaccessible castles and began to live alone and apart from the rest of the world only rarely interacting with it.
Combat: In her Obelisk form, Aeoli Ayesha has all the powers
of a djinn. The magical nature of this type of creature enables her to
do any of the following once per day: create nutritious food for 2d6
persons
and create water or create wine for 2d6 persons; create soft goods (up
to 16 cubic feet) or create wooden items (up to 9 cubic feet) of a
permanent
nature; create metal, up to 100 pounds weight with a short life span
(the
harder the metal the less time it lasts; gold has about a 24 hour
existence
while djinni steel lasts only one hour); create illusion as a
19th-level
wizard with both visible and audible components, which last without
concentration until touched or magically dispelled; use
invisibility,
gaseous form, or wind walk.
Aeoli Ayesha was created with water breathing
ability, and can move, attack, and use magic under water as if she was
on land. Aeoli Ayesha can cast control weather and levitate spells
lifting
his own weight and as much as 4,000 additional pounds twice a day.
Aeoli
Ayesha also can call lightning (3 bolts of 15 8-sided dice each),
lightning
bolt (1 bolt of 15 6-sided dice), control winds, and use weather
summoning
once a day. Aeoli Ayesha uses his magical abilities at 19th level. When
angry Aeoli Ayesha usually will summon a storm and call lightning.
Aeoli Ayesha may choose to make a single other
attack in a round. This special attack is so destructive and deadly,
that
she will use it only if there are no other options left open. The
special
attack is a destructive implosion of air as a vacuum is created. It
inflicts
10-60 points of damage over a 30' radius area per attack and can be
used
every other round. These mighty attacks have been known to destroy
buildings and sink ships
. Aeoli Ayesha can become ethereal twice per day. In addition, she has the following spell-like powers, at 19th level of spell use, usable once per day, one at a time:
| advanced
illusion |
bless
charm person or mammal
commune with nature
eyebite
hold person
hold monster
hold undead
levitate
pass without trace
protection from evil, 10' radius
remove fear
remove curse
shield
speak with plants
whispering wind
Habitat/Society: Aeoli Ayesha is retiring and solitary, but
not
shy. She lives in one of three places she has built. One is a castles
built
on a cloud island that floats over the Anmon Rain Forest (She is there
70% of the time), another is on a mountain peak in the western arm of
the
Ader Mere Mountains (She is there 20% of the time) and the last is
underwater
on the island off the northern coast of Genesia (Where she is 10% of
the
time). She lives a quiet, reflective life and spends her time musing
about
the world, composing and playing music. The thoughts of how she can
once
again challenge the Deius for their place as god of this world is not
far
from her mind. But as of now, no ideas have presented themselves. Land-
and air-dwelling, Aeoli Ayesha is usually on good terms with
neighboring
dragons and good cloud giants, and cooperate with them for mutual
defense.
When Aeoli Ayesha is underwater she has similar relationships with
mermen
and aquatic dragons. She is considered the ruler of all the Genie
Realms
and the Queen of the Storm Giants. Most know her as Ariana.
Aeoli Ayesha lairs are always protected by guards.
Land or aerial lairs have 1-2 rocs (70%), which also serve as mounts,
or
1-4 griffons (30%). Underwater lairs have 2-8 (2d4) sea lions.
While her control over the different lesser races
and their societies grew, she found another Seraph that had similar
ideals
on how to make Gathis a place of freedom and good for its inhabitants
though
their means were different. His other Seraph wass Escilis, the Master
of
Life. He had crearted new races and placed them on the world. Aeoli
Ayesha
and he became partners in their quest to bring civilized behavior and a
greater society to Gathis' lesser beings. Escilis only differed
in
that he didn't feel that the peoples needed to be controlled but
through
love of their 'Father' they would do as they were asked. This was
an inherent belief instilled in him by Trodon, this feeling of duty and
loyalty, and he believed it was something every being created by the
Deius
would have, even those created by him.
Aeoli Ayesha and he become friends and then began to loved each other as much as such beings of their kind could love. Aeoli Ayesha went about creating her Djinni Lord controlled realms and Escilis ruled his children over a much smaller area but without structured control. He asked Aeoli Ayesha to come and bring some structure and so the areas now known as Cantar included a few of the Genie Realms that she placed in Gathis, these being mostly in the south and over the orcs that lived there. The giants were found to be harder to control than the Orckind and Ogrekind in the area and so the cities were mostly of the lesser beings rather than the giants of the blood of Escilis. This put stress on the relationship between the two Seraph and Escilis retreated to the large mountain peak in this area of the world to watch over his giant children as the Wars of the Fallen began. Aeoli Ayesha retreated to the far mountain range so as to keep the presence of two Seraph together from being more easily detected. They rarely see each other now though a few clandestine meetings have occurred over the ages since the end of the Fallen wars. On the rare occasion that her powerful, magical Obelisk form is destroyed, Aeoli Ayesha will convert to her true form, that of a Seraph. She is hidden within a maze built underground below the forest in north central Genesia, beneath the cloud castle upon which she spends most of her time.
Description: Aeoli Ayesha natural state is that of a being of
pure energy of the Positive Plane. She was brought into existence by
Trodon
millions of years ago in his pursuit to create beings in his own image.
One of a hundred, there are only three of her kind left. They were
known
as the Seraph. Their true names are Aeoli Ayesha, Escilis and Bergenat.
Aeoli Ayesha wishes to fulfill her ancient quest
to recreate the world in a way she feels is better thn the way of the
Deius.
She would never hurt the good creatures of Gathis in any way, however
trying
to claim what she feels is her proper place, she has caused great
trouble
to many. She is not evil, but Aeoli Ayesha simply thinks that the Deius
are misguided and petty, and intend to remakes the world in what she
feels
is the proper state in which it should have been created.
Aeoli Ayesha in her natural form appears as
sparkling
ball of radiance. She is only ever seen as this when she choose to
reveal
it or when her obelisk form is defeated. Anytime this rare defeat
of Aeoli Ayesha's obelisk form happens, she instantly appears at her
hidden
obelisk in her natural state. She must then stay in this form for 24
hours
before she can gain enough energy to hide again from the Deius and her
other enemies.
When Aeoli Ayesha takes her true form she receives
her maximum Hit Points for her Hit dice (8 Hit points per Hit die),
gains
50% magical resistant (100% vs. Invocation/Evocation spells and this
type
of spell will heal Aeoli Ayesha a number of Hit Points equal to the
spells
level) and is not affected by attacks from non magical weapons of less
than +3. Any creature of Hit dice less than 3 cannot even attack Aeoli
Ayesha in this form or take any action against her at all even if they
have a +3 or better weapon unless they first successfully make a saving
throw against death magic. Those that fail are unable to take action
against
the Seraph though they are free to act in any other way.
Aeoli Ayesha in her natural form is immune to
paralization,
poison, sleep and other effects that would only work against a physical
body. She cannot starve or sufficate and does not tire. Her form is
such
that it is not able to be effected by anything that is not magical or
supernatural.
Those creatures who have special magical attacks can damage or effect
them
with them. Because of Aeoli Ayesha's extraordinary intellect
and her wisdom she is unaffected by Illusions of 1st- and 2nd-level.
Aeoli
Ayesha is also immune to cause fear, charm person, command, fear,
forget,
friends, holdperson, hypnotism, ray of enfeeblement and scare
. Aeoli Ayesha regenerates 4 hit points per round of physical damage. If she is brought to zero or less in her true form she is destroyed permanently.
Combat in True
Form: Aeoli Ayesha will
seldom
attack without provocation, though she will always attack evildoers
caught
red-handed. Whenever possible, Aeoli Ayesha will persuade other
creatures
to attack in her stead. Since she is highly intelligent, Aeoli
Ayesha
will frequently use spells from a distance before closing with her
foes.
Aeoli Ayesha has the abilities to use magic as a 15th level wizard, and
a 15th level priest. This magic requires no components, because Aeoli
Ayesha
long ago learned the rudiments of a magic similar, but not the same as
Deius magic, giving her the ability to use magic by tapping into the
energy
from the positive plane and her own form. Aeoli Ayesha can cast one
wizard
spell and one priest spell per round in addition to attacking
physically.
Aeoli Ayesha can also render herself and up to 1,000 pounds of additional matter ethereal at will. Further, she can use the following once per round, one at a time:
blur
color spray
dancing lights
detect charm
detect good/evil
detect magic
ESP
faerie fire
invisibility
protection from evil
Aeoli Ayesha can drain a persons life
energy.
This is in the form of a mental attack with a range of touch. When she
physically attacks she may strike twice a round for 2d4 +2 points of
damage.
If desired by Aeoli Ayesha, her attack also requires a save vs. Death.
If failed, the target looses 1d4 points of Constitution. When the
target's
Constitution score reaches zero, the target dies instantly (all life
energy
drained from the body). Lost Constitution points will return at a rate
of 1 point per month of total bed rest or one per two months of
moderate
activity (nothing strenuous). A Heal spell will restore 1d4 lost
points,
and Restoration will restore 1d4 + 4 points (both can be cast only once
per target for any specific group of a Seraph's attack).
Deep in the Feylon Forest of southern
Genesia
is the secret grove that the Fey society has come to know as it's
heart.
The center of this grove is Bergenat. The giant tree has been here from
the return of time as the Fey call the beginnings of renewed life after
the War of the Great Powers. The Fey had come into existance before the
time of the Fallen wars and had lived in and as part of the world
before
the first Seraph and Shaitan appeared. As they were wandering the world
and exploring its beauty the Deius Trodon was creating his first
Seraph.
And one of these first was Bergenat. Unlike most other Seraph, Bergenat
was completely at ease with just existing and enjoying the world of his
creator. It spent hundreds of years contemplating the process of a seed
falling from one tree and blowing across the ground to a place of its
own,
sprouting and growing into a sapling, then a youg tree, then surviving
its first winters harsh climate; finally to spread through the
earth
for many dozens of yards, grow old and finally die. The process of life
amazed her, The ever changing newness of another day and more growth,
the
loosing of leaves and the growing of more to replace them. Unlike the
moving
animate liife, Bergenat learned to respect and admire the persistant
struggle
of survival between the ever growing and majestic tree against all odds
stacked against them, with nothing to protect them but a strong mutable
body and a rough skin.
When all Fallen were being hunted by the Shiam
under the manipulation of Herdah and his prophet, before even the deius
came to make war against their creatoins, Bergenat decided to hide
amoungst
those things she loved most in the world and so she permanently merged
herself to the world and became a tree. She was not only one if the
first
Seraph created but also one of the first to hide. But it was not out of
cowardness or a want to live to rule again later or some other selfish
reason that she hid, it was to be able to maintain a place through the
coming times of war and destruction that those things she loved would
have
a place to grow and survive. And so Bergenat spread much of her
otherworldy
magic and abilites into the forest of what would become southern
Genesia,
centering in the Feylon Forest. She grew her roots out in all
directions
for thousands of miles and fed the other plants there. Within the
ground
she tunneled out warrens and caves for the Fey to hide and part of her
being became the animate tress that guard the Feylon. Bergenat became
the
forest.
Thorughout the Wars of the great Powers,
Bergenat
stayed hidden, still above but growing under the feet of the armies.
She
continued to use her power to keep the forests alive and protect the
fey.
Sending out feelers to keep an eye on events, it was Bergenat that
first
told the gnomes that it was safe once again to emerge to the surface
and
released teh fey to once again attend the forests and live their life
of
peace and freedon on the surface of the world. Throughout it all it is
likely that she did not go undetected by the Deius, but they wre so
busy
with others of more destructive and manipulative ways that they never
did
anything to stop or discourage her actions. They realized that her
interferance
in the natural order was still a casue of concern and yet Bergenat was
helping inher own way. Until such time as she openly emerges in her
natrual
form the Greater Elementals left behind by the Deius and those the
Deius
later took as their servants in Gathis would leave her alone

Being one of the first of the Seraph
created
and also one of the first to join her essence with Gathis and make an
obelisk
form, Bergenat is one of the most powerful beings in Gathis. She did
not
hastily build her form in order to hide from the Deius, nor make one
that
would be able to insuinuate itself into the peoples of the world in
order
to manipulate them. Bergenat created her form to represent her desire
to
serve the world and its creations and aid the Deius in keeping the
perfection
and balance in nature.
The central obelisk form of Bergenat is a
tree of unique type that grows in a secret grove in the center of the
Feylon
Forest of southern Genesia. She is six hundred feet tall and spreads
out
with branches in all directions shading an area of at least a three
hundred
foot diameter. If extended she can reach out 240 feet from her trunk.
If
she appears like any type of tree it is a majestic, gargantuan oak with
a smoother bark but twisting and growing in all directions at once as
would
be expected of such a tree. The lower trunk rises 120 feet before any
branches
split off and has a diameter of 85 feet. Her limbs can easily reach
down
to the ground and out to 240 feet. Bergenat is an evergreen as
is most of the trees
of the Feylon. Though she is not mobile she is animated. Each and every
limb can move as she likes. Many end in hand like apendages of all
sizes
and she is very adept at using them to grasp and even work with to
create
things. She will use the products of her own body to form useful goods,
weavings or sculptures. Bergenat is able to grow in any way she sees
fit
in an accellerated rate. She can casuse her branches to form into ready
made items of great beauty and quality. Any items she creates in such a
way act as +2 magic items. Many diferent kinds of fruits and nuts grow
upon her body as well. These provide not only nurishment but other
magical
qualities that mimic the spells she can cast and serve as potions to
those
she grants them. Bergenat has roots that spread throughout
all the forests of southern Genesia and a few that spread even as far
as
the northern forests as well. The larger of the roots are hollow in
their
center and can be used as tunnels by the Fey. This allows them to
travel
under the forests to appear and disappear at her whim. Also other
animated
trees grow from her roots and give her control and senses through the
southern
forests of Genesia. The Treant are children of Bergenat, budding off of
her roots and then breaking away when fully grown to be her mobile
agents;
soldiers, messengers and teachers. The grove that surrounds Bergenat
has
the largest population of Treants in all of Gathis. She uses the Treant
also as her means to find out what is happening in other places in the
world and over the millenia they have traveled to all forests in the
contegious
land mass of central Gathis.
Bergenat is a peaceful nurturing being with
no want to harm anyone or anything. But she will act decisivly and
dangerously
to defend herself and those under her protection. She sees the Fey and
the forests as her ward and believes she is living the life for which
Trodon
had created her. Of all those considered to be one of the Fallen, she
perhaps
is acting in a way acceptable to the Deius.
Bergenat will rarely reveal herself,
preferring
not to interact with the more transient lifeforms (anything with a
lifespan
of 500 years or less). Humans and demi-humans other than gnomes and
elves
are likely not to have ever heard of her. She is intolerant of evil,
particularly
when fire and the wanton destruction of trees is involved. She hates
orckind
and all the fallen Fey races (like goblins and kobold) with a passion
and
tends to be suspicious of the elves, Dwarves and Gnomes that she feels
betrayed their Deius created state to pursue their own desires.
Bergenat
is extremely watchful of anyone with an ax or weilding fire within the
forest. Bergenat has no use for treasure, and usually
places all such items somewhere out of sight, typically in one of her
tunnel
roots or an underground channel she has dug. Occasionally she can be
convinced
to give up treasure but only when some great good will be accomplished
by her generosity. Over the ages she has collected a great number of
gems
in her diggings as well as created many works of art and found some
lost
magical items of old. She collects and grows certain herbs and special
ingrediants and makes potions to give to those Fey that have pleased
her.
Though able to protect herself with ease, the Fey of the region are continually using their own powers and abilities to keep her a secret from the rest of the world. Though they do not worship her as a god (she has never asked this of them) they realize that many of them owe their survival and exsistance to her presence and so guard her and respect her above all other creatures of Gathis.
Combat: Bergenat can attack with upto 24 limb per round. These can each be directed at seperate targets. These attacks are of different size and so do different levels of damage based on thickness and strength. One of each damage level can attack in each direction around Bergenat's trunk within her 240 foot reach (four different directions). The same level of damage can not be directed at the same target in the same round. Nor can more than four attacks be used agasint the same target inthe same round.
The limb descriptions are:Also Bergenat can reach out and grab a target. This is a called shot and so made at -4 to hit. Each grab attack, and while it continues to hold its target, reduces the number of damaging attacks Bergenat can make. The chance to break free is equal to a bend bars/lift gates roll for the target at -% equal to the damage mod for the limb used. This may cause characters with strength attibutes less than 16 to have no chance of breaking free. If unsuccessful in breaking free, the target is held fast until the limb is rendered helpless, severed or Bergenat decides to release them. Individual limbs can be targeted. The limb can no longer attack or hold a target if it is reduced to half its hit points and at 0 hit points the limb is destroyed. Held characters can be automatically crushed for 1d4+ str bonus for limb each round without further attack roll being made. They are also more easy to be hit by any Bergenat desires including herself. The held target is +4 easier to hit and loses any dex based AC adjustments. Bergenat can only attack with a lesser limb than is holding the individual with a maximum of three such attacks.
Small 1-6 damage per attack Str 18.51 (+2 to hit / +3 to dam) 6 HP

Due to her tough, barklike skin and great size, Bergenat has a superior Armor Class rating against almost all weapons. A weapon of less than +2 magic will not even hurt her. Bergenat's great wisdom and age old experience gives her immunity to cause fear, charm person, command, fear, friends, forget, hold person, hypnotysm, ray of enfeeblement and scare and gives her a +4 magical defense adjustment vs. spells affecting the mind. Her only weakness is fire. Any fire-based attack against her is at +4 to hit and +1 damage per die. In addition, she saves against all fire-based attacks at -4 and her magic resistance against fire based spells is reduced by 15%.
In the grove surrounding Bergenat there is from 10-30 (4d6+6) Treants at any given time. These will come to the aid of Bergenat at her call and each arrive form 1-6 rounds after she does so. Also there will be a number of Fey creatures around or near at any given time. There is a 20% chance that any of these Fey races will be within 1-10 rounds of being able to arrive and aid Bergenat is she calls. Normal number appearing is based on Monstrous Manual entry on each.
Atomie, Brownie, Centaur, Dryad, Ellylon, Grig, Grippli, Kilmoulis, Korred, Leprechaun, Nymph, Pech, Pixie, Quickwood, Satyr, Sprite and Sylph. If for some reason none of these arrive or are somehow kept from aiding Bergenat, then she can animate normal trees. She can animate up to four trees per round to a maximum of 24 trees. It takes one round for a normal tree to uproot itself. Thereafter the animated tree can move at a rate of 3 per turn and fights as a full-grown treant (12 Hit Dice, two attacks, 4-24 points of damage per attack). Animated trees lose their ability to move if Bergenat is incapacitated or they move out of the Feylon Forest.
Bergenat can use the following innate
spellike
abilities once per round, one at a time:
Blur
Chill Touch
Darkness 15-foot radius
Detect Charm
Detect Good/Evil
Detect Magic
ESP
Hypnotism
Invisibility
Protection from Evil
Bergenat's life force is almost
indestructable.
The whole of the Feylon Forest would have to be destroyed to completely
kill her or force her out into her natural state. As long as one seed
was
left alive she would be able to use her magics to regrow as a single
tree
and from this recreate the forest once again over many years. It is
unlikely
that Bergenat can revert back to her natural form unless her obelisk
form
is destroyed.
Escilis, Master of Life "The Titan"
Escilis was the last Seraph created by
Trodon. The others had been released into the world before him. After
each of
their
creation Trodon would place them in Gathis and then turn and start work
on another Seraph with ideas of ever creating the perfect being. Though
they were only infinitesimally different and slightly more powerful and
better in Trodon's eyes each time, by the end Escilis was perceptively
more powerful than those of the first to be created. Mostly this showed
in Escilis' ability to use magic. While others were able to tap into
that
which allows magic to work and learn to wield it with great force, none
of them were as gifted in this as Escilis. But also having noticed the
first twinges of his creations beginning to form rebellious thoughts
and
acting on them, Trodon attempted to instill a sense of duty and loyalty
into Escilis.
When Escilis was released into the world.
He did not at once begin to make a place for him as others but waited
to
see what Trodon would divine was his place in the order of things. But
when this did not come and he saw the evil that Beseten's Shaitan were
doing he decided he had to act. Watching the lesser beings of Gathis
dying
under the machinations of both Seraph and Shaitan alike, he decided it
was unfair that these creatures did not have the ability to protect
themselves. At first he tried to instill powers upon them but found
their life span
and understanding only caused this to be misused and transient at most.
The answer was in making them more able to control and harness the
powers
that he could give them.
Many centuries followed while Escilis studied
and tinkered with different of the lesser creations of the Deius. He
was
carful to not destroy any of the peoples or races and so only took a
few
willing from each that he could find. But in all attempts he was unable
to bring any of them to a point where they could harness the powers of
the Seraph. They lacked something that he was unable to discover and
felt
that it must be something only the Deius could know. And so
Escilis
began his journey to remake himself into one of the Deius.
What he decided he needed to do was to learn
the secrets of creation. He found it was easy to create simple material
things and later even complex machines as he had noticed the Shiam
under
the Seraph Herdah using. But he did not understand the science
that
allowed them to work. He was able to recreate lower forms of life after
a while and then to change them. Then he saw one of the Deius walking
the
world. He knew the Deius were beings of pure spirit and energy and so
this
body had to be a construct of some kind and yet it seemed perfect and
fitting
to the world. The Fana of the Deius had a certain structure and
symmetry.
It copied in many ways the bodies of the naturally born races of Gathis
and so Escilis determined that this was the natural order of things and
that he would only be able to act as one of the Deius if he copied
their
actions in the world. Escilis then created his own body in the likeness
of the Fana of the Deius.
It was much simpler than he had thought it
would be. He just had to will himself to in habit the form once it was
created, and then shape it into the exact image that he wanted. Yet
it took him many score of years to do. Painstakingly collecting the
materials
of Gathis that would be able to be transmuted or grown into the
internal
and outer workings of the body took time. He had to create bones and
vessels
for his life's blood to flow through. He needed to collect the
particles
that would be able to form a skin as well as the muscles and sinew. All
of the body had to be cultivated and carefully created to perfect
specifications. But when he was done he was pleased. His form was the
duplicate of any
of the Deius Fana forms and he felt that should they meet him they
would
mistake him to be one of them walking the world.
This done, feeling the energies of his Seraph
body surging through the Gathis created body, he felt he could proceed
with his goals. But now he felt that imbuing the lesser creatures with
power was not enough. To truly be one of the Deius he had to create
beings
himself. This would be the test. If he could create a race of beings
himself,
one that added to Gathis and so was accepted into the creation, then he
would be accepted as one of the Deius. Working for centuries, he was
able
to create beautiful forms and animate them but he could not give them
the
spark that allowed for free will. He could not create a spirit.
Though
some trial and error into bringing spirits of the elements from other
dimensions,
he found that he was only making bodies for these already created
spirits
to inhabit. For a time he was despondent and did nothing but wander the
world looking for inspiration.
Once again Escilis discovered something form
observing the workings of the Seraph Herdah. Seen by most to be a crack
pot and useless because he cold not work magic, Herdah still had a
shrewd
and clever mind. Escilis watched him in secret as he taught the lesser
creatures under his manipulations how to change the very way they were
put together. The Shiam had discovered how to genetically manipulate
their
bodies and make larger tougher and better ones. And Escilis once again
changed his goal. If he couldn’t create a new and useful race that
could
survive and be accepted on Gathis form scratch, perhaps he could
manipulate
the bodies of those already here to do it.
Escilis found that the Shiam were easily
manipulated
and so found some unattended and unaligned to Herdah and asked them to
come under his protection, promising to give them more strength and the
ability to protect themselves from the predators of the world. They
agreed.
Then he approached the land running natural
born people of Gathis, the Gnoll, and promised them the same. Once he
had
built them a place of seclusion and defense and provided them with food
and shelter so they could live at ease, he started to gather form them
the stuff that made them alive. He only took minute amounts of each and
tried to find that which was strongest within them. Working through
magic
he manufactured the beginnings of a new life. He knew that this would
work
now and replicated the process over and over and then placed his work
into
the wombs of the Shiam and Gnoll females to be born. As with the making
of the Seraph, in the footsteps of his creator Trodon, Escilis created
50 of his new race to be born. All of them came to term within
five
days of each other and so a new race was born.
But the children were ugly, they had not the
advantageous traits of the races form which they had come, but instead
began to show traits entirely unpredicted. They had course hair
growing
in splotches over their bodies, their canine teeth protruded over their
lips and their nose was more of a snout. The skin was a grey to green
hue
and they grew claws on hands and feet as well as having pads like
wolves
or dogs. Finally they were not the short thick body of the Shiam or the
tall graceful body of the Gnoll but something in between, a stocky
hunched
body that grew to about 6 feet tall in adulthood. The race was not what
Escilis had wanted nor did he feel it would be accepted by the Deius in
Gathis. And so once they were raised to adulthood and trained to fend
for
themselves Escilis transported them to the far north and made a place
for
them in those half frozen lands. At this time the lands we know as
Tarce'Mu
and the islands of A’equel were still connected to the central
continents
of Gathis. And it didn't take long for the new race to multiply and
spread
over the lands to the south. The race he had created came in later
years
to be known as the orcs.
But this showed him what his problem had been
or so he thought. So once again he tried to create a pleasing race that
would be accepted by the Deius. And again what was created was less
than
perfect but still closer to what he hoped to achieve. The result was
the
race of ogres. Further attempts using the materials of ogres and those
that came later, as well as adding first magical parts of Elementals
and
then in the end even a bit of himself, created all the different types
of giants. His later offspring were numerous and varied but one thing
was
common amongst them, they all grew to great size. Through these off
spring
he would bring a balance to the world and help to create a greater
society.
While traveling Gathis in his own concern
for his offspring he found another Seraph that had similar ideals on
how
to make Gathis a place of freedom and good for its inhabitants. Aeoli
Ayesha
and he became partners in their quest to bring civilized behavior and a
greater society to Gathis' lesser beings. Escilis only differed in that
he didn't feel that the peoples needed to be controlled but through
love
of their 'Father' they would do as they were asked. This was an
inherent
belief instilled in him by Trodon, this feeling of duty and loyalty,
and
he believed it was something every being created by the Deius would
have,
even those created by him. This allowed him to actually be able
to
know love for his creations.
Aeoli Ayesha and he become friends and then began to loved each other as much as such beings of their kind could love. Aeoli Ayesha went about creating her Djinni Lord controlled realms and Escilis ruled his children over a much smaller area but without structured control. He asked Aeoli Ayesha to come and bring some structure and so the areas now known as Cantar and those areas of Giants included a few of the Genie Realms, these being mostly in the south and over the orcs that lived there. The giants were found to be harder to control than the Orckind and Ogrekind in the area and so the cities were mostly of the lesser beings rather than the giants of the blood of Escilis. This put stress on the relationship between the two Seraph and Escilis retreated to the large mountain peak in this area of the world to watch over his children as the Wars of the Fallen began. Aeoli Ayesha retreated to the far mountain range as to keep the presence of two Seraph together from being more easily detected. hey rarely see each other now though a few clandestine meetings have occurred over the ages since the end of the Fallen wars.
Escilis lives on the mountain bearing his
name
to the north and east of Lake I'Daki in the Ankhor Mountains of Cantar.
He is worshiped as a god by the Giantkin and in a way he looks at them
as his children. The one time more lawful being became more and more
egoistical
and selfish as he pursued his goals to become one of the Deius. In his
mind he has achieved this. Not understanding the powers that the Deius
truly hold or their place in the make up of things, Escilis believes
that
he actually achieved his goal and is the creator of part of the
world. His mind tells him that the other Deius ignore him and have
locked hm
to
only be able to travel upon Gathis. Since he had created his obelisk
form
before any had even thought to hide from the Deius and had never been
any
part of the actual wars against them or other of the Fallen, they never
again took notice of him. He now lives as the god of the Giantkin and
if
ever encountered by others he will present himself as the Deius
Escilis,
Master of Life.
If questioned by knowing or learned beings he will tell them this story.
"The Deius all came from the sacrifice of the great single being from which all things sprang. There were many Deius of different levels of power and controlling many facets of this one great being. After most have achieved their work they pass into Gathis and become one with it or consolidate into one larger and more powerful being in order to do greater things. Others split off from these or come to be created at times when they are needed to usher in new works in the world. While the Deius most know are the greatest and most powerful of these comgined Greater Powers, there are others with specific followings and aspects that are not so far reaching, and some still walk the world. I am such a one."

Description: Escilis is a thirty foot tall, perfectly proportioned and muscular man. He has long curly, black hair that falls around his shoulders and a dark curly, well trimmed beard that protrudes from his chin but no mustaches or sideburns. His eyes are a blazing glow of golden energy, like tiny burning suns. Typically he is wearing an over the shoulder like toga and leather bracers and leggings with sandles. At his belt is a large long handled hammer. If he is aware of the need for battle he will arm in a +2 suit of scale mail bringing his AC to -6. The scales are seemingly of golden hued bronze.
Combat: The basic attack of Escilis is his great maul (maul
of
the titans). He is capable of attacking twice in a melee round and
inflicting
7d6 +14 points of damage per hit.
He may choose to make a single other attack
in a round. This form of special attack is so destructive and deadly,
that
Escilis will use it only if there are no other options left open. The
form
of this attack is a beam from Escilis' eyes that destabilize the
molecular
hold of the targets primal material. In most cases this turns the
target into a puddle of goo. A particular tough person or a
glancing
blow will only cause parts of the target to slough off as it is
rendered
into genetically unstable material. The special attack inflicts
10-60
points of damage per hit and can be used every other round. These
mighty
attacks have been known to destroy buildings and sink ships.
Escilis can become ethereal twice per day.
He is able to employ both mage and priest spells as a 20th-level spell
caster. In addition, all he has the following spell-like powers, at
20th
level of spell use, usable once per round, one at a time, at will:
| advanced illusion | invisibility |
| alter self | levitate |
| animal summoning II | light |
| astral spell | mirror image |

The Remaining Shiatan
Bapthos (Yaun-Ti/Naga) "The Dark Shadow"
In the age before the dawn of the new races
that now rule the world, there arose beings of great power, created by
the Deius to aid them in their goals to shape the world. But in
their
folly the Deius gave these creations too much power, the most dangerous
of these being free will. Thus the creations began to work
towards
making the world in their own designs.
One of the first of the Shaitan created and
released into the world by Beseten was a creature of unparalleled evil
and hunger, named Bapthos. This being quickly rose to prominence among
those later to be known as the Fallen, his reign marked by a series of
bloody conquests of the realms of Gathis. Effecting a mortal form, a
great
winged serpent, he drew to him some of the race known as the Shiam,
lesser
creatures created by Beseten to war against the Fey, and gained them as
worshipers. At this time the Shiam were only slightly more than animals
and their lust for plunder and bloodshed paled only in comparison to
his
own, created as they were to be selfish and competitive and seeking to
expand their own power and territory but with the ability to adapt and
also to learn. Utilizing his powers, he quickly raised a few tribe of
these
Shiam to become a potent band of sorcerers (Note this means
spellbinders
in general, and is not a separate class) and warriors to his cause, men
and women of great ambition and little scruples. Upon his followers,
the
Children of Bapthos, he bestowed hordes of treasure and heretofore
unheard of magical might. He also gave the strongest and smartest of
them the blessing of his union. Thus were the savage and cruel yuan-ti
born.
Under powerful manipulations and specific
instruction, his Children rose to dominance over large areas of Gathis.
A series of forced take-overs and murderous campaigns were launched in
his name, at first by the Shiam followers and then by the blessed of
Bapthos,
the beings known today as yuan-ti. Bapthos mated with his human
concubines,
those given freely as well as captives taken in the endless wars which
marked the Age of the Poisoned Blade. From this unholy union came the
priests
and wizards of Bapthos, the King-priests of that violent age. So feared
were the armies of Bapthos that many tribes and lesser races
voluntarily
surrendered virile youths to feed the lusts and hungers of the
insatiable
being to escape complete annihilation or to buy his favor.
Early on, Bapthos realized that he could draw
strength and vitality from the sacrifices made in his name. His
ceaseless
experimentation went unheeded by the Deius. Though one of the first to
emerge, his reign was now merely one of many which left its mark upon
Gathis.
It was only later, as he strove to challenge the Deius themselves, that
his true power became known and, it is rumored that, even the Deius
themselves
trembled at his might. With each sacrifice, and the power that it
released
which he devoured, his own power grew but each new power level required
even greater quantities of blood and death to meet Bapthos’ growing
hunger
and needs. It was the excesses of Bapthos and this growing power that
drew
the ire of the Deius to those lands now under the sway of the
King-priests.
It is at their decision to stop Bapthos' growing power, such power as
could
actually threaten them, that the Deius began their to watch the actions
of the Shaitan and Seraph in Gathis.
The Scarlet Tide, the peak of yuan-ti power,
was millennia in duration, a period in which great cities were founded
and new magical techniques were born. It was a period of unsurpassed
creativity
and knowledge but it was also one of the bloodiest episodes in Gathis
history.
The ambitions of Bapthos, ever increasing in power and becoming equal
to
the Deius themselves, and his King-priests combined into a ruthless
empire
built upon the backs of slave labor and mountains of skulls. No sooner
had the boundaries of the yuan-ti empire been established that the
avarice
of their patron forced them to expand further still. It is at this time
that Bapthos declared the world his and he the Supreme God. The
Deius
were finally provoked beyond merely watching Bapthos and sent their
servants
the Mighty Draco to destroy this upstart god. Even with the Deius'
Draco
attacking them at all fronts, the Children of Bapthos were able to
press
on. Bapthos himself killed two of the mighty Draco in one battle
and impressed upon his followers his supreme power and their
invincibility.
The Serpent fleet sailed from their ports seeking new fields of
plunder, new cultures to consume, and the ground forces,
armies numbering in the tens of thousands, marched over the face of
Gathis
all in the name of Bapthos. His standard, the winged serpent of
Bapthomun,
capital of the empire, became feared and reviled. As the raids
increased,
the neighboring realms and people of the other great powers united and
took arms against the foul yuan-ti. And the start of what would come to
be known as the War of the Great Powers begins. What seemed at first
only
a war to stop the acts of one of the Shaitan would later escalate into
wars that would change the shape of the world as others of the Seraph
and
Shaitan would make themselves also into gods of those weaker than they.
Among these enemies were the devout of other
Seraph and even some Shaitan, later known as the Fallen, priests of no
mean skill and favored by their patrons as well as elemental mages, the
Djinni Lords and their armies. The Genie Realms rallied under two score
flags fielding armies of thousands form their emerging nations. Wizards
of great power also heeded the call to arms, combining their skills in
the most devastating crusade to have rocked the surface of the world.
The
rapacious Bapthomites needed to be brought to heel lest all civilized
nations
be crushed and swallowed. The enemies of Bapthos managed to drive back
the hideous legions of Bapthomun, back to the very heart of that foul
and
degenerate empire. Only one ally that was not of the children of
Bapthos
came to his aid, Sacorra, a Shaitan and sort of older sister to
Bapthos,
who alone of all other Seraph and Shaitan could tolerate to have any
companionship
with her. For this she loved him in her way though he quickly
took
advantage of this and used her as much as he could.
As the tide of blood began to
wane, so too did the power of Bapthos. Hundreds of slaves died daily
upon
his altars as the King-priests sought to fight back their enemies.
Clouds
of poison roiled over the lands killing friend and foe alike. A rain of
seething acid cascaded from evil, unnatural thunder heads, destroying
the
once fertile valley of Bapthomun. The crusaders replied with cleansing
fires, setting to the torch all that the yuan-ti had built. The Draco
alone
in their duty to the Deius in the absence of their lords, created the
elder
dragons to continue the war against the Bapyhomites after the loss of
two
of their own. Their breath raining death and destroying many of the
greatest
of the King-priests. The ringing of their hammers and picks formed a
continuous
din as the races under the Djinni Lords command sought to rid the world
of all trace of the evil Bapthomites. Channels leading from the
sea
were built to flood the plains that surrounded Bapthomun and drown the
city in an attempt to finally destroy it. Even then the
Bapthomites
survived and continued to fight but the Shaitan Ally Sacorra was forced
to flee and so Bapthos was alone as a great power against all others.
At last, the Deius did personally intervene
as parts of their carefully created world were being destroyed.
Favoring
the Seraph guided forces of the Genie Lords, they chose to destroy
Bapthos
and his legions rather than the ones that actually did most of the
damage.
Bolts of power rained from the heavens scattering the legions and
driving
back the yuan-ti generals and their hordes. Desperate, the King-priests
began to augment the sacrifices with members of their own race. The
power
gleaned continued the war for several more years but, during that time,
Bapthos came to realize that his dreams of godhood had been torn
asunder. His greed and bloodlust had destroyed the very people
he had come to love.
The intervention of the Deius brought to
Bapthos’
attention the power of sacred artifacts. Lesser items or magic created
by the Elemental Genie Lords and greater ones created by other Fallen
or
the true artifacts created by the Deius themselves were used to defeat
the superior warriors and sorcerers of Bapthos. The artifacts, while
used
to combat him, contained within them an essence of their creators
themselves.
A source of pure, raw energy which could continue to feed him. Through
the King-priests, he made known his desire to possess and tap the
energy of these
artifacts.
The pureblooded, those least favored by Bapthos and yet most man-like,
were sent forth in covert groups to scour the planet and retrieve these
potent devices. In their vanity, the Deius had failed to recognize the
cunning and ambition of Bapthos, and thus, many of the objects created
to combat the Fallen were left scattered across the globe, awaiting a
time
whereupon they could be put to use once more. Either to combat vulgar
Fallen,
those who sought to tread the path of Bapthos, or even without
realizing
they would be used in such a way, to restore one of the Fallen to
the world of the mortal.
Using much of the last reserves of his energy,
he caused a cleft in the fabric between the world of men and the spirit
realm to be formed and also rent asunder the remaining territory
preserved
by his Bapthomites. These lands sank beneath the surrounding seas that
encircled the lands created by the Deius, causing the first of the
earth
changes that were brought about by the wars of the Fallen. Within the
Veil,
the land that lay apart from the kingdoms of the Deius and the empires
of the mortal, Bapthos sought refuge. With their ‘god’ now gone, the
King-priests
sued for peace. Driven to frenzy by the bloody reign of the
Bapthomites,
their enemies refused and the war dragged on for several more decades.
With Bapthos effectively removed, the Deius ceased their intervention
until
once again threatened by one of the great powers. Little by little, the
ancient Scarlet Empire fell into decline.
Reduced to a mere fraction of its influence
and most of their lands now beneath the tumultuous seas, the yuan-ti
continued
to battle their enemies, forcing them to pay heavily for each foot of
remaining
ground they managed to take back from the legions. With the support of
the Deius now waning, and the resistance of the remaining legions
growing
ever more fierce, members of the separate Djinni Lord forces and other
nations of the great powers began to withdraw. The cost of a hundred
years
of continuous warfare had bled many of the nations white. Uncontrolled
hordes began to ravage their lands as the bulk of their fighting forces
left to war against the Scarlet Legions of Bapthomun. The Elder Dragons
found that their existence displeased the Deius and they began to
battle
amongst themselves and claim territories that once were those of the
Scarlet
Empire. Content that the threat of Bapthos had been contained, the
armies
began the long journey home, unaware that Bapthos, though defeated, had
plans for his return. The remaining King-priests and the yaun-ti found
dark places to hide themselves and carefully maintained the remains of
their god and attempted to breed true to his desires.
Unlike other remaining Fallen, Bapthos has
no physical form. Bapthos now resides in the Veil, an area between the
Realms of the immortal Deius and the mortal world of Gathis. It is a
place
of shadow and unknown depth and dimension. Only a few are able to
pierce
this veil or exist partially within it. In order to interact with his
followers
in Gathis, Bapthos had taken the form of a giant winged serpent. Unlike
a dragon the shape had no limbs and the wings were of a brightly
colored, feathered plumage. When he took himself beyond the veil,
Bapthos’
obelisk form was left behind and hidden by his remaining followers. No
longer able to inhabit it, Bapthos was still able to find it regardless
of how far into the depths of the veiled lands he traveled or where
ever
his followers moved it. This gave him a link to the mortal world in
which
he could use to communicate with his remaining followers and
King-priests.
The form became as unbreakable stone, a petrified idol of their god
that
remained after his parting. It sits on its coils wings outstretched,
and
large serpent head facing down towards the ground from its height of 12
feet. If the serpent body were outstretched it would be about 60 feet
long,
the wings extending 24 feet in both directions. Through this idol the
yaun-ti
gain their priest spells and commune with Bapthos from the other side
of
the veil. It is located in the center of the Pagore Swamp in the
southwestern
most peninsula of Genesia.
Bapthos is also able to communicate to the intelligent Undead. Though these creatures living on both sides of the veil cannot see or effect Bapthos, he is able to converse with them and through them also act to some degree in the world. Certain necromancers and priests have also gained means to communicate with Bapthos through the spell 'speak with dead'. This can only work should first, Bapthos will it and second, the caster is aware of Bapthos and knows when to cast the spell. Usually the caster is made aware of these through the word of some other undead or entity to which the necromancer is speaking. Bapthos has used this ability to manipulate and create cults that have worshiped him throughout history. Usually manifesting his will and desires through undead minions and necromantic followers, Bapthos rarely uses his true name, only being known as 'The Dark Shadow' and uses them to aid in the quest for the objects of power he seeks to enable his return.
Bapthos has no Obelisk form. Any
interaction
posible is by spell or other spell-like ability.and wildeal with the
natural
form's statistics.
Grihmaht the Shaitan (Rariok- Red Eldar Dragon) "Fiery Death"
Origin: Early in the years after his creation by
Beseten,
the Shiatan Grihmaht saw that his powers could modify and change the
world
around him. His speciality became in the mimic of other creatures and
stealing
of their form and thoughts. With this ability he saw fit to wreak havoc
on a community he found and disrupt the natural flow of things as well
as torment them until They were on the brink of destruction or
insanity.
After which he would go to them in secret, find the most heroic or
learned
of them and steal his form and thoughts after killing him. Then in this
guise he would come to the community and seemingly defeat himself in
combat,
thus becoming their savior. This usually caused the people to follow
him,
and after generations look at him as a god. After many millennia
and a great number of communities had fallen to his manipulations,
Grihmaht
became very egotistical due to the fact that he was now god to a great
many peoples. This was good for as long as it lasted, but soon he began
to find other Seraph and Shaitan targeting areas of his control. Unlike
others he had worked on a smaller scale and more personal level and so
could not match them in battle. This caused him to retreat, which
became
likely the only thing that saved him as the Deius began their war on
the
Fallen During the time of the Wars of the Great
Powers,
he used those peoples remaining under his control to cause mischief,
mayhem
and confusion to those that were hunting him. After the coming of the
Dracos,
Grihmaht could see his end nearing. He finally went deep into hiding
and
tried to find a means to escape his final down fall. His ability to
assimilate
and hide amongst others so far had saved him as he went from race to
race
and place to place, always on the edge of the Deius controlled front
lines.
But then the Deius seemed to retreat as certain of the Fallen found new
weapons that seemed to work against them. But it was still not safe as
the Fallen still battled amongst themselves and now the Dracos had
started
to reproduce and attack in even more ferocity. The new Elder Dragons
though
were not as powerful as the Dracos. They, he could defeat if he could
but
find their weakness and lure one of them alone to battle him. He
watched
for centuries as the Deius seemed to be nowhere and the Elder Dragons
began
to mate. And then he found their weakness. They had some sort of primal
need to mate and to gain a mate They had to impress them with a
protected
place to bear and raise young as prestige or treasure to show They are
worthy. Grihmaht returned to what peoples still remained after so much
time with memories of their god and brought them together to create a
great
secluded and protected lair that would befit the greatest of Elder
Dragons.
They filled it with treasures of many cultures and built cunning and
dangerous
traps to guard it. After it was done Grihmaht allowed word of this
wonder
to be heard by those Elder Dragons known to still be without mate. And
one of them came to investigate, Rariok the Red. The traps were not
only
to guard the lair but also to turn on the Dragon that came for the
bait.
Through the means of this trap and his inherent power, Grihmaht was
able
to capture Rariok alive. This was needed if his plan was to
succeed.
Grihmaht thought that to change into the Elder
Dragon form permanently and thereby become the Dragon's savior, like he
had done with so many before, should lead to his goal of world
domination.
He took the form of the Elder Dragon while it was still alive forcing
the
remaining Dragon spirit of Rariok to merge with his. He new he could
not
just mimic the form and steal the thoughts as with other lesser beings
but had to truly become Rariok in order to succeed in his grand plan.
His
ultimate goal was to manipulate the Elder Dragons and their offspring,
make them fall away from their path of duty to the Deius and through
their
power destroy the other Shiatan and Seraph and rule Gathis. And
so
it came that he took the form of Rariok the Red, an Elder Dragon.
At first it seemed his plan was simple. As
he stepped into the place of one of the Elder Dragons, he allowed his
brood
to multiply at will. The Red Dragons, both dominant and those that
raised
the young of others as maternal mates, as well as others that he was
able
to convince to join under him against their own progenitors, began to
stake
out territories and pursue rewards and treasure form those of the
people
of the Fallen They began to destroy. As other Dragons started to notice
this They too began to mark territories of their own and build lairs if
only to secure their legacy if not out of any selfish or evil
intent.
It was at this time that the Deius returned
and with one grand trap destroyed many of the strongest Fallen at once.
They began once again to war against the Fallen openly and called their
Dracos to aid them. As the Fallen became less numerous or hid more
cleverly
than the Dragons could locate, more and more Dragons started to pursue
their own material needs and a war between the rebellious Dragons and
those
still loyal to Elder and Deius started. The Dracos that remained came
and
called their Elder Dragon 'offspring' to them with those Dragons old
enough
to fight and serve the Deius. But many rejected the Deius They
had
never met nor whose hand was found in their creation and took advantage
of the others leaving to steal their hordes and murder the weaker of
the
maternal Dragons left to protect the whelps. This caused even some of
the
most loyal of Elder Dragons to leave the army of the Deius and return
to
fight or revenge themselves against their murdered children. The Deius
could not rely on the loyalty of the Elder Dragons nor lesser offspring
ans saw them as a danger but They had the Fallen to defeat or They
could
still lose Gathis to them. And so They turned to another source and
brought
the Greater Elementals to serve them in their war against the Fallen.
The
Dragon War, now at its height, only made it more difficult to defeat
the
Fallen and delayed the finding of many of the Fallen so long that they
had gained enough time to hide themselves. The Deius were not sure if
they
were destroyed by forces that were still loyal but were not working
under
their orders or if they were somehow masking themselves from their
detections
and so they left the Greater Elementals to watch the for the Fallen and
destroy them when they emerged.
Though much of what he had wanted had emerged from the track he had set the Dragons on, now he could no longer use his true form to aid in his manipulations as the Greater Elementals were shown to be drawn to such forces and he had witnessed the devastation and power of these beings against one of the Fallen. He had disrupted the dragons set them against each other and made most of them to turn against the Deius or at least deny them their service and yet they were widely spread around the world and no longer a community. This made them almost impossible to employ as a threat against others still active and attempting to rule the world. He had gained the family of Rariok that remained instinctually loyal to him, thinking him their sire, but most of the dragon community was unknown to him and many against him personally. Once again he retreated to the very same lair he had devised as Rariok's bait and now only moves through the use of lesser dragons loyal to him. Most of these are Red but also many maternal Red Dragons had born the offspring of other dragons and so raised them into his family and so loyal to him. These include many of the chromatic types that roam Gathis, though only those of direct lineage have loyalty to him and not those born to other than Red Dragons and their maternal dragon whelps in the family tree.
Personality: The Shaitan Grihmaht, although a recluse due to the fact that the Deius and Greater Elementals are still hunting him, appears as a fairly dominant and outgoing Red Dragon. He lives in
