Woman journalist Nellie Bly (Elizabeth Jane Cochrane) gained world fame when she beat Jules Verne's fictional character Phileas Fogg's record for traveling around the world in 80 days by more than a week. Nellie's trip of 72 days, 6 hours, 11 minutes and 14 seconds was featured on numerous trade cards. There are other cards available, including one featuring a "Nellie Bly" cap. If you have scans of trade cards, or other Nellie Bly memorabilia that you would like to add to this page, or if you have Nellie Bly trade cards to sell, please send an email to me. |
