What Services Do We Provide?


Long-Term Care Ombudsmen are advocates for residents of nursing homes, board and care homes, assisted living facilities and similar adult care facilities. They work to resolve problems of individual residents and to bring about changes at the local, state and national levels to improve care.

    Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes

    Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes is a coalition-based campaign to improve the quality of life for residents and staff in America's nursing homes.

    The campaign's unprecedented coalition includes long-term care providers, caregivers, medical and quality improvement experts, consumers, government agencies and other quality-focused organizations.

    The campaign will strengthen the public trust in nursing home care by focusing on quality improvement and self-regulation. The campaign acknowledges the critical role of nursing home staff and consumers in improving quality of care and quality of life for nursing home residents.

    There is no charge for services provided by the Ombudsman Program. However, contributions are appreciated and are used to support additional Ombudsman services and activities to benefit Georgia's long-term care residents. To make a contribution, please check in the Community Ombudsman Listing for your local Ombudsman program.


    Volunteers:

    Ombudsman Programs around the state are looking for volunteers. If you would like to become a volunteer for your area program, as a friendly visitor; office assistant; data entry person or join the staff as a Certified Volunteer, please look for your local Ombudsman program in the Community Ombudsman Listing.
