FUN PLACES WE HAVE VISITED
Gail and Jim have been very fortunate to visit so many wonderful places and have made some very special new friends! We don't have enough room on our web site to share all the 40+ states that we have been to in our consulting and training work (not to mention places out of the U.S.), but we did want to share a few places that have a special place in our hearts. Enjoy your travels!
ALASKA
One of our early business incubator projects was in Fairbanks, where Jim stayed at a beautiful bed and breakfast from which he could watch the "Northern Lights." Our SBIR/STTR training took us to Anchorage, Alaska with some of the SBIR Program Managers to teach for a few days; we then took the train to Denali Park where we enjoyed a Mama Moose and her baby, and later took a boat out of Seward from which we saw whales, eagles, puffin birds, and ice glaciers. Visit the Denali National Park & Preserve (National Park Service) web site for more information.
BERMUDA
We have visited Bermuda many times and have stayed at different places. All have been nice, but we would like to recommend the Pompano Beach Resort near Gibbs Lighthouse, in Southampton Parish. It offers dramatic ocean views from the main clubhouse and all guest rooms. We recommend the plan that includes breakfast and dinner, as the food was very good, reasonably priced, and served in a dining room overlooking the ocean (it includes some outside tables from which uncouth people like Jim could throw dinner rolls to the fish waiting below). It is on its own private road well away from all the noise of traffic, so it offers peace and tranquility. Be sure to rent a moped so you can see this beautiful country "up close and personal." Click here for more info on the Pompano Beach Club.
S-BAR SHEPHERD RANCH,
REED POINT, MONTANA Treat yourself to a Montana ranch experience. This secluded working sheep ranch is nestled in the foothills, of Montana's breathtaking Beartooth Mountains. It is located near both the Yellowstone and Stillwater rivers or, if you navigate on the basis of towns, it is roughly half way between Bozeman and Billings. An ideal place for the vacation or retreat of your dreams with a fully equipped guest house at very reasonable rates. Consider bringing the kids for "lambing season" for an experience they won't soon forget. Maggie Julson is owner and "host extraordinaire" and will make your stay at her ranch very memorable!
SOUTH T-BAR RANCH CANON
CITY, COLORADO This is our little get away, nestled on a 6,000 acre ranch between Canon City and Hartsel, Colorado. We love it for its abundant wildlife, panoramic views that include Pikes Peak and the Collegiate Range, and the still quiet of the wilderness that you can experience but not readily describe. The ranch is divided into 35+ acre parcels available for purchase at prices that you'll never find in Aspen, Durango, or the other "hot spots" of Colorado. For more information, check out South T Bar Ranch Property Owners Association. If you want to find out about what land parcels are available, we recommend Pat Moore at Colorado Mountain Property Real Estate
That's the backside of Pike's Peak Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam, and the deer and the antelope play...
Beautiful aspen trees, and elk herds that graze on them....
