Japanese Beauties
Although Japan has some beautiful scenery,
these beauties also take one's breath away.

Miyoshi Umeki

Sachiko Nishida

Ah! Here we are with the true beauties of Japan (grin).

I'm sure most of us who were stationed at Hakata were and still are girl watchers. After all, what red-blooded American boy isn't. And, the women of Japan are among the most beautiful in the world.

I don't know about you, but I find their eyes especially fascinating. They can look seductive, sensual, innocent and mysterious all at the same time.

On this first page, except for the last two pictures, are women who were popular in the 50's, 60's and 70's as actresses, singers and/or models. At left is Sachiko Nishida, a polular singer of the time. Above is actress Miyoshi Umeki, star of and Academy Award winner for "Sayonara," who was later in the TV series "The Courtship of Eddie's Father."

Linda Yamamoto was a singer, model and TV actress very popular in the mid and late 60's.

If you're a James Bond fan, you'll recognize these Bond girls, below. Mie Hama and Akiko Wakabayashi both starred with Sean Connery in "You Only Live Twice," part of which was filmed on an island off the cost of Hakata. They were both popular Japanese actresses and models in the 60's and into the 70's.

My favorite Japanese singers were the Peanuts, pictured at right. They were very popular singing twin sisters. You might remember them as the tiny singing twins from the movie "Mothra."

Sally

Sally was one of the most popular girls with the GIs in the 1950's and 1960's. She worked at the Diamond Horsehoe club in Fukuoka.

Chie Graham

Last, and certainly not least, is my personal Japanese Beauty, my wife, Chie. Married in 1967, we are still together and have had a wonderful life together.

Now, on to some very spectacular Japanese Beauties. The following pages contain some of today's beautiful Japanese women. Please! don't have a heat attack while viewing them.
