The key thing that sets 1040EZandFREE apart from other web sites can be summed up in a single word: security.

Other tax preparation web sites use web pages with server-side scripting. In simple terms, whatever you type into the internet on those web sites gets transmitted over the internet. Not 1040EZandFREE. It is a dynamic web site that is done completely using client side scripting.

What does client side scripting do for you? What you type on your computer stays on your computer. Even when you print out your tax return, it is done as an image and there's no way to make any sense out of your data (unless someone beats you to the printer :-) ).

In fact, you could run 1040EZandFREE completely disconnected from the Internet!
It's true, if you were to download all the files from this folder of my website and save them to your C drive, it would still work!
