Our old buddies Karen and Don's daughter Kate married Stuart on December 2, 2000. It was quite an event. Kate, being of hardy Scots and Norwegian stock, eschewed the normal warm weather wedding. She obviously felt such things are for sissies (like Pat and I). Instead, she chose to wed in Nags Head, on the outer banks of North Carolina, with near gale winds blowing an icy rain down upon us all. The poor piper, clad in a kilt, suffered from chillbains of the shins! I was less fortunate. My wattles froze and I looked like a goiter case.

However, I am happy to say all went well once we immersed Pat in a steaming tub for five hours. After she thawed out she enjoyed the reception immensely.

	Then there's Tom, Kate's big brother. Who does he show up with? Shannon, born in the Florida Keys and attending the University of Florida. That makes her a conchigator!
