FLASHDOG: dogs in action

Lisa Kaye is a 'semi-retired', 'full-time busy', traveler/photographer who is crazy about dogs. It is impossible for Lisa to go to a sheep herding or agility trial without her camera. After numerous requests from folks who saw her lurking around their dog's runs with a camera around her neck taking pictures, she decided to find a way to make her photos available for the owners. After all, everyone wants pictures of their dogs! Especially if those pictures help explain their odd hobby of competitive sheep herding. The 'web' seemed like an ideal way to share our hobby with a wider audience and show off our dogs! Hence the debute of FLASHDOG where we highlight the most interesting pictures from trials all over the Pacific Northwest and California.

Brit after playing in irrigation ditch	Traveling along with Lisa are her two dogs, Neeka and Brit. Photography is definitely just a sideline hobby for Lisa and her canine crew. The majority of her energy is taken up with dog world activities and fun. Neeka and Brit have both graduated from Obedience classes and recently completed beginning Agility in addition to their regular herding work. Just so you know their lives are balanced and not all 'work', on the lighter side they were enthusiastic participants in the Eugene Celebration's Pet Parade and occasionally act as mascots at soccor games! Besides the FLASHDOG: dogs in action pages and Neeka and Brit's pages, you are also invited to visit the more serious side of Lisa's photography habit. Take a moment to check out the travel photography she does in between dog activities. A serious traveler, Lisa has driven more than 20,000 miles in the last 4 years searching for the perfect photo. From the Pacific Ocean to the Bay of Fundi, transversing Canada and Alaska from west to east and south to north ending up as far as the Arctic Circle, Lisa has brought home some great award winning shots.

This past year Lisa spent several months of accumulated time during six different trips to Asia. In spring her photography web site will feature photos of Hong Kong and Macau. Currently her web site is featuring work from the Western Canada and Alaska portion of her portfolio. Come take a look!
