      Pecan Chocolate Chip Pie
       

      *Ingredients*

      3 eggs
      1 cup light corn syrup
      1 cup sugar
      2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
      1 teaspoon vanilla extract
      1/8 teaspoon salt
      1 cup Pecan Halves
      1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
      1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell

      Whipped cream, for garnish
      Pecan Halves, for garnish

       

      *Preparation*

      Heat oven to 400 degrees F.

      In medium bowl, beat eggs slightly.  Stir in corn syrup, sugar, margine or butter, vanilla and salt untill blended.  Stir in pecan halves and chocolate chips; pour into pastry shell.

      Bake at 400 degree F for 15 Miniutes.  Reduce temperature to 350 degreesF; bake for 25 to 30 minutes more or until lightly browned and completely puffed across top.

      Cool completely. to serve, garnish with whipped cream and pecan halves if desired.
       

      Yield: makes 1  9-inch pie
