Summary: Spock recalls his return from Gol.

Disclaimer: Yea, yea, and verily, Paramount and Viaborg doth own the entire Trekiverse.  I don't have a claim to it and I certainly don't intend to make a penny off of it.  But, since I don't seem to actually mention any of that in this piece, I guess it's mine, mine, all MINE!  Mwuhahahahaa....

PORTALS

The door swung shut behind me,
Alone, I stood in sun red haze,
My expectations shattered
And all my lies undone.
Behind those walls, I willed to silence
My memories of the One
Whose siren thoughts would cast me out,
My torment and my love.

I praised myself for seeking peace,
I praised myself for virtue,
Each self-congratulation
Would reforge my chains anew.

The door slid wide before me,
Alone, I stood in startled gaze
Of him whose thoughts burnt through me
From whom I'd thought to run.
Within these walls, I found my place
Beside the only One
Who can lead and I will follow,
My captain and my love.

It was only then I realized,
It was only then I knew
Each self-congratulation
Was rememberance of you.
