For what it's
worth the ones I have designated as FN were actually FIIC, which back in those
days were equivalent to MM3 or EN3. Snipes didn't become petty officers until
they made 2nd class.

on that list was aboard at commissioning Aug. 25, 1943. It also happened to be
my 20th birthday. Some stayed aboard all during the war. Other's were
transferred or detached. Olhasso
GMI was promoted
to chief and a few days later his commission as Ensign came through predating
his promotion to chief. Grimsley was promoted to warrant grade, Radio
Electrician.
