Rainbow Bridge Memorial

If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane.. I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

GAF's Winnie of FFP May 21, 2001 - September 11, 2007

05/06/06
FSF's Charlotte of FFP
April 9, 2003 - August 2007
Charlie was spayed in Oct. 2006 and was doing very well until I found her unresponsive one day. An emergency vet visit revealed that she had a hernia and her stomach had moved into her chest cavity. She passed away while we were there on her own. As our vet thinks this could be a hereditary problem, all of Charlie's remaining offspring are being altered.

SHD's Phoenix of FFP January 28, 2002 - September 2006
Phoenix found her way to the bridge after emergency surgery revealed extreme lymphoma of the spleen. Her prognosis was extremely poor and I made the decision for her not to have to suffer. I miss my baby groundhog each day and it breaks my heart that she is gone so soon.

Buddy Boo-Boo Bear
Unfortunately Buddy was diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma in March of 2006. Our vet only gave him about 6 months to live, and he only narrowly made that. :O( Boo is deeply missed.

CKF's Simba of FFP
6/8/00 - 6/27/06

Shadow
- 05/30/06

TCF's Jeagermeister of FFP
7/4/98 - 5/16/06
Today Jeager would have been an amazing 8 years old. He was an inspiration for all of us to live life to the fullest and never look back. In the end, of all things, he suffered from a big heart. :O( I helped him cross the bridge to live a pain-free life. Jeager is deeply missed by all.

Tigger
10/30/97 - 12/26/02

Norman
6/1/98 - 11/22/02
I can't even begin to write about Norman yet. He was really my big cuddle baby and my lap is very lonely now without him here.

Slik
12/1/97 - 8/18/02
Slik was such a wonderful boy. I rescued him from a very strange man who was allowing Sliky to sleep under the stove & refrigerator and eat Dad's Cat Chow. I took him to a ferret rescue and then a month or so later, went back and adopted him! He lived with me for about 4 years and was a terrific companion his whole life. He is greatly missed, another sad case of lymphoma, adrenal disease and a little insulinoma. :o(

Grizzly Bear
03/03/97 - 08/08/02

Belle
5/18/99 - 6/11/02
Belle, momma's girl till the end. I came home one day and found Belle dragging her rear legs. We took her to the emergency fert vet and discovered that she had severe Lymphoma and the nodules were pressing on her spinal nerves, causing her rear end weakness. I could not bear to see my baby suffering and made the decision to end her misery. The next day Belle was sent to the bridge to be reunited with her fuzzy family. My heart has a very deep hole missing Belle and we are still suffering from the tremendous loss. Upon necropsy, it was found that Belle had over 35 Lymphoma tumors and there really was nothing we could have done for the poor girl.

Smokey Bear
7/30/96 - 5/26/02
Smokey Bear - my very first ferret has passed away to guard the bridge. Smokey's passing has been very difficult for me, he was a very special little guy. I will never forget the day I purchased him at the pet store or the antics he went through to put a smile on my face every day. Rest in peace Smo Bear - till we meet again.

FFP's Roo
5/20/01 - 5/5/02
Roo was a georgeous dew born of Delilah & Simba. Sadly, Roo developed Juvenille Lymphoma and deteriorated very quickly. His mom ended his misery just shy of his first birthday. Roo will be missed deeply by those he touched in his short life. Rest in peace sweet boy.

Aladdin
6/1/94 - 4/27/02
Laddie was my special girl. I saved her from a neglectful home and she blossomed in my home for 4 wonderful years before losing her battle with insulinoma. Her illness came on very quickly and we are glad that she did not have time to suffer. Aladdin was known by many and touched lots of hearts, she is thought of daily and will be missed forever.

Mellow
3/1/97 - 12/24/01
Mellow was the unfortunate victim of Lymphoma. She had tumors all through her body and developed mast cells under her chin. She was a pitiful site, but always a sweet and cuddly girl. I will never forget the day she came into my life and will look forward to seeing her cute face again.

Jasmine
2/18/96 - 12/1/01
Spazzy Jazzy even till the end. Jazz ailed from adrenal disease and insulinoma, but is now running pain free I pray. Always a good girl, she loved to climb and jump..our little acrobat. Her friends miss her lots..and so does mom.

Tattoo
1/96 - 7/7/01
Tattoo was one of the sweetest ferrets to ever pass through our doors. Only the second rescue we have lost, this poor girl had adrenal disease so advanced that her vulva was swollen to the size of a golf ball. Rescued in NY as part of a special trip, her brother Elmo had surgery and is thriving in his new home with Jamie and her furkids. Tattoo is deeply missed and we only wish we could have spent more time with her.

Oscar
1/1/95 - 5/23/01
My Oscar Meyer Weiner head - deeply missed. Oscar was the first ferret I officially adopted, from a wonderful rescue in VA. He was a big laid back kinda guy and in the end suffered from heart difficuties. I miss my rolly polly guy everyday and take comfort that he is now reuinted with Ginger

Barney
1/1/97 - 4/14/00
Barney was our first rescue to pass to the bridge. The poor guy had so many tummy ulcers that he would no longer permit me to feed him or give him his much needed medicine. Sweet Barney boy is survived by his brother Bandit who found a home shortly after Barney's passing.

Ginger
10/31/97 - 5/22/99
Ginger was my first baby girl, she was diagnosed with leukemia at only 9 months of age. She fought a good fight, and in the end became to weak to fight any longer. We miss our baby dearly and hope she is dooking & swimming on the bridge!

If you have a fuzzy residing on the Rainbow Bridge and would like to add a memorial to him or her here, please send us a brief story, your ferret's name and a picture if available. E-mail us at ferretfriendsofpgh@worldnet.att.net.

Taz
5/94 - 12/31/00
From mom Jackie: "Taz, I miss you with all my heart...there will always be an emptiness till we are together again"
