Phoenix & Munch's Kit Diary 2005
08/30/05 - Here is the Munchlet, very hard to photograph at 9 weeks old. He has been home with us for a few weeks now and is doing terrific. He is currently sharing a home with our jill Charlie who did not have kits this year. She is showing him the ropes and teaching him to be a good ferret. :o) Cute is not a good enough word to describe this little guy (who weighs 1lb 9oz already!).

08/13/05 - He is just over 6 weeks old now and we will be bringing him home from his foster family next week finally! It will be so nice to have him home and not see him only once per week. He has really grown into a beautiful little ferret with a great personality :O)

08/10/05 - These are some really great pictures of little Munchlet. Only about 10 more days till we get to bring him home with us again! He is 41 days old now.

08/09/05 - Munch's foster mommy was kind enough to share these photos of the baby with us.

08/06/05 - Here are pictures from my weekly visit with Munchlet. Only two more weeks till he comes home with us again :O) He is utterly adorable, I just can't wait!

08/04/05 - Eyes finally all the way open now! Of course, I missed the whole thing - but the important thing is that he is with us and he survived!

08/03/05 - Pictures from his foster mommy - more of his eyes have opened here.

08/01/05 - Munchlet has started to open his eyes, you can see the corners opening in these pictures - taken by foster mommy Tara.

07/29/05 - Munchlet is 4 weeks old already! Weighing in around 162 grams now, he is gaining weight very quickly now that he has started eating mush too. Enjoy these new pictures :O)

07/23/05 - I was able to visit with Munchlet today. He is now 23 days old and doing very well at his foster home. His colorings are starting to show more and it now appears that he will have mitts, blotches on his belly and maybe more! He is still pretty light in the body, so only time will tell!

07/16/05 - It has been 5 days since Munchlet left us for his foster home and he is doing extremely well! I was able to visit with him today and got some pictures of his progress. He is still very light, but starting to show some color..perhaps a chocolate point maybe.

07/11/05 - With Munchlet not growing as he should be (only 28 grams at this point) and his momma losing her milk due to lack of stimulation, it was decided that we would transfer Munchlet to another breeder who had a jill give birth a few days ago. We will hope and pray that she accepts him as one of her own kits and enables him to survive :O)
07/06/05 - The baby is now up to 20 grams! Such a small gain, but considering the week - we will take *any* gain! He gained 2 grams just with one feeding! New pictures will be posted soon, you can start to see his color coming in now.
07/04/05 - Munchlet is still with us, only weighing in at 14 grams, just 2 grams more than at birth 5 days ago. I will start giving him supplemental feedings. It also appears that he may have a kinked tail - here are some pictures taken this morning:

07/01/05 - More sad news :O( I woke up today to find two of the kits had died during the night. This is common, but never easy to accept when it happens. Especially with a special litter like this. We are left with just one Munchlet now.
06/30/05 - Phoenix had a total of 4 kits. Sadly, the last kit did not survive the birthing process (I believe, I was at work when it happened).
06/30/05 - Phoenix started delivering her kits around 9am, this year I got to help her with all 3 born (so far). WARNING: Some of these pictures are "icky"...the kits were not fully cleaned off yet - these are very newborn shots. Kits have weighed 10g, 12g and 10g respectively and the 2nd (largest) kit was born breech!
