Goldie & Meeper - Kit Diary 2008
updated 7/8/08
3/15/08 - Goldie decided to have her kits while I was at work today. She did a great job giving birth to 10 KITS all on her own. There are 2 albino's in the bunch, but the remainder have dark eyes so I am hopeful for my champagne kits!
3/16/08 - It looks like we have 5 girls and 4 boys this time (1 passed away over night). Both albinos are females. Kits and mom are doing good!

3/20/08 - Day 5 and the lil' meepers are getting bigger and bigger.

3/26/08 - Goldie's kits are 11 days old and still very light!! I am extremely hopeful for my champagne kits, with the exception of our two albino's of course. These kits are growing by leaps and bounds.

4/2/08 - 17 days old today and I can be safely sure that these are champagnes, with the 2 albino's tossed in for good measure. They seem to have nice broad heads and are developing very quickly with the help of great momma Goldie.

4/10/08 - Many apologies for the lack of updates on this very cute litter! I have been quite busy dealing with our other litter that got sick about 2 weeks ago. Goldie's litter of beauties has been anything but a problem - they have been perfect and are little monsters for their age. They recently started eating mush and are the cleanest babies I've ever had! They don't even try to walk thru the food.. they just stay all around the bowl and happily lap away. How rewarding :o)

04/23/08 - Here we are at 39 days old, just about 5 1/2 weeks. They were moved into the large playpen with Jackie's litter in order to give them more space to grow and play. Can you count how many kits are in this photo? LOL

5/14/08 - Goldie's cuties are now at the 8 week mark and they are just so damn cute I can't stand it. As with the other kits, I have included some "blooper" shots so you get an idea of how hard it is to photgraph kits. These guys were not so bad because they are a bit younger, but still...

6/8/08 - The remaining crew of Goldie's kits turned 12 weeks old yesterday. There are some real cuties here, well - they are all cute of course..even the 'bino! The babies were seperated into smaller groups and are still mingling with the older sable kits from Jackie's litter. Momma Goldie is no longer supervising and they are doing just fine with their manners ~ but still don't want to cooperate with picture time.

Chocolately Hob - sort of between champagne & chocolate

07/08/08 - Goldie's girls are just at 16 weeks old now and quite the beauties. I have decided to keep a champagne jill to take Goldie's place when she retires in 2010. There are 2 remaining jills to find homes out of the 9 kits born. Both girls are quite large and sturdy, with resemblence to both mom and dad. Will be very nice show prospects and extremely nice pets.
