STEP 2: Choose a Pattern
Blaze - A long white stripe from the forehead, between the ears, down the back of the neck preferably to the shoulders. The feet should have white tips. Also acceptable are knee patches, white tipped tail and bibs. Should have a pink nose.

Mitt - Any color can have mitts (except Albino & DEW). Mitts should be even front to back and should look like socks. Mitted ferrets can also have knee patches & bibs.

Panda - Almost completely white head which includes the neck and throat. Colored eye rings are acceptable. Should have mitts on all 4 feet, knee patches and white tipped tail are acceptable.

Point or Siamese - The body color is noticeably different from legs & tail color. The mask is a thin 'V' mask for sable, cinnamon and chocolates, not a full or 'T' bar mask. Champagnes may have a 'V' mask or no mask. Some organizations also require a "zipper" of the leg/tail color down the ferrets belly.

Solid - The body color is 100% the same color. Some white around the nose or eyes is acceptable. No mask.

Standard - The body color vs. white is 80-90%. The points are usually more color concentrated. Full or 'T' mask.

Think you got it?
One of the fun thing about ferrets is that they all look different in their own little ways. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the right color combination. I have judged color/pattern rings at a number of ferret shows and can try to offer my opinion if you would like to send us a picture of your fuzzie.

If you have a picture to submit to the color chart, please send it to us with your permission to use it as an example here.
