Charlie & Nookie Jr's Kit Diary 2004

06/06/04 - Updates are long overdue! Charlie's kits are now almost 11 weeks old and they are still very dark. We have three of the kits still here, the sable male (Memphis) is going to stay with us permanently, and the other two kits are leaving for their new homes in a few more days.

05/20/04 - Charlie's kits are just over 8 weeks now. They are very dark, much more than I ever expected we would get from this pairing. I have decided to keep the sable hob, as he reminds me of his grandpappy Nookie. He may become available later though (I doubt it!). These kits will be leaving starting this week and it saddens me to see them go, but at least I get to keep one :O)

05/13/04 - What little weeds, they are 7 weeks and 2 days old! These very dark, very sweet babies are getting huge! I can't believe they will be leaving us soon! I have decided to hold the sable male since he looks so much like his grandpa Nanook and is turning out to be a very nice little boy. If so, that will reserve the whole litter. The mutt boy's eye is MUCH better, barely noticeable now!

05/08/04 - Charlie's kits are the best behaved in our home. At 6 weeks, 3 days old - they use the litter pan 99% of the time and sleep in, instead of eating their hammock! These kits are very, very cute and getting big and strong. The little mutt boy had to go see Dr. Wagner for a scratched cornia (eye) - he is on medicine and already improving. I can't believe two of these kits are available, they are going to be very nice ferrets.

05/03/04 - Charlie's kits are 6 weeks old now. They are so dark & pretty. All of the kits have opened their eyes, and they are busy exploring their new surroundings. They are very good at using the litter pan and they are by far, my cleanest kits in the house :o)

04/24/04 - Charlie's kids are now 32 days old and they are getting closer and closer to opening their eyes up. :o) Very cute little sausages, and very dark :o)

04/18/04 - 26 days old - more pictures to share! They should be opening their eyes sometime this week (I hope!), I can't wait to "meet" them!! These kits are now gobbling up their soup, twice a day like good little kids. I've included their current weight with the pictures as well today.

04/13/04 - Today we have some individual pictures to share. The babies were being very coopeative for their photo shoot :o)

04/11/04 - I was able to take a few pictures of the babies, not much new to report. These are at 19 days old. They are getting darker and more defined.
04/09/04 - The babies are now 17 days old and starting to show their colors very nicely. One boy is a sable with black on his nose and the other boy is a sable too, but with a white spot on his belly! He may also have white on his feet, but I can't tell for sure yet. The girls are also one dark sable with black on her nose and the other girl is a sable with white knee patches. She might also have more white on the belly as she grows.

03/28/04 - The babies are 5 days old today and gaining quite well. Charlie is doing great with them, but pretty protective towards the other ferrets. She's good with me though - which is all that I care about..LOL There are definitely 2 girls & 2 boys in this litter, and I'm very excited to have the girls!! They are quite dark already, so they should be nice sables with colored noses :o)
03/23/04 - Yeah!! We have babies! Charlie had four babies this morning and is doing well. Charlie is really good about me being with her & the kits. I helped her birth a few of them :o)
