Mural, "Wright Field", by Sgt. Stuyvesant Van Veen. Originally located in building 126, Area B, this 6' X 15' foot canvas portrays the World War II flightline of Wright Field. In the upper left, a semi-transparent representation of the older portion of Wright Field (today's "Downtown" Area B) can be seen, while in the upper right an allegorical figure of "Flight" reaches heavenward. At some point this mural was hidden by a trophy case, but was rediscovered and rescued from destruction in 1996 during renovations of the building. The canvas is currently in storage until it can be remounted and installed in a new location.
