Homicidal Constellation--Early Research

The following table is the result of querying the database of 1,294 Clincial Index patient records. The criteria set was one standard deviation (s.d.) above the mean (originally planned to set it at 2 s.d. like the Suicidal Constellation which is set to 2 s.d. above the clinical means on AGGression, DEPression, and ESCape subscales) on the subscales of AGGression (mean = 16, s.d. = 7), IMPulse (mean = 18, s.d. = 7), and ABUse (mean = 15, s.d. = 6) and HI (history of homicidal ideation) and HAttempt (history of homicidal attempt) set to True.

As you can see, of the 17 cases identified, all endorsed a history of homicidal thoughts, and a homicidal attempt. Two had previously been identified as physical abusers; 13 of the 17 had been in legal trouble, 8 had been convicted of at least one crime, and two currently had homicidal ideation and had made a current homicidal act.

If the HI and HAttempt fields are left blank (instead of searching only if it were True) and the criteria the same (i.e., one s.d. above the mean on the Clinical Index subscales of AGGression (mean = 16, s.d. = 7), IMPulse (mean = 18, s.d. = 7), and ABUse (mean = 15, s.d. = 6), then 130 Clinical Index patient records were returned with 55 having a history of homicidal ideation, 20 with a history of homicidal attempts, 12 identified as physical abusers, 99 with legal involvements, 59 with at least one prior conviction for a crime, 9 with current homicidal ideation and 2 with current homicidal attempts.

These results are considered preliminary.
