ABOUT
THE SIRE, UAGII UKC-CH Unir van Spranger Hof JHD, RE, NA, TN-N,
CL4-H,F,S, CL3R, RL2 (Netherlands).
His call name is ÒEÓ. E is
a beautiful mahogany Terv with black overlay. He has an outstanding temperament, and has a number of
performance titles to back this up: UKC AGII is an Agility title.
UKC CH is a Champion
Conformation title.
JHD is a herding title from the American Herding Breed
Association. It stands for Junior Herding dog.
RE is an AKC Rally Excellent title.
NA is an AKC Novice
Agility title
TN-N NADAC (North
American Dog Agility Club) is a Tunneler's Novice title.
CL4. is CPE Level 4 Handlers, Fun, Strategy & Level 3 Regular
RL2 is APDT Rally
Level 1 & 2 (much harder than AKC!!)
E
is a wonderful combination of lovely type, very nice substance, and
elegance. He has a beautiful
medioligne head with outstanding head planes, which can be seen from the picture
of his head in silhouette. His
body in silhouette shows an elegant, long neck, nice height at the withers,
short backÑa very correct Belgian outline.
E's father, Don Lee, is a beautiful grey. Don LeeÕs parents are both Groenendael
(black long hair variety). The
great, top producing RE IntÕl CH Grimm van de Hoge Laer appears behind both of
Don LeeÕs parents.
EÕs mother, Jina, is a lovely Terv, linebred on the top producing French
sire, RE Carey du Bois du Tot.
Both E and the dogs behind him make a perfect complement to Sugar.
ABOUT THE DAM: Fastbreaks Sugar
ÔN Spice is over half way to her AKC conformation championship. In UKC, which is judged by breeder
judges, Sugar has never received less than an Excellent conformation rating. Sugar just turned 5 years of age; this
is her first litter. She is a
beautiful combination of French and Belgian lines. She inherited her mother, XolaÕs, lovely deep red fawn coat;
she has beautiful Belgian expression with a gorgeous dark eye. SugarÕs structure is sound: she has
excellent angulation, both front and rear, and her movement reflects this. Most important, she is a wonderful
companion to our family.
Sugar is one of the 5
Spice girls from her litter: 2
have finished their AKC Championships; Sugar and her sister Cinnie are both AKC
major pointed; and sister Pepper, who has had very limited showing, is AKC
pointed. A brother, Pumpkin Spice,
excels at agility and now is working on his AKC Excellent titles in agility.
It is interesting, Sugar was born
early on Thanksgiving morning, and now her litter due date is projected for
Christmas Eve!!
About SugarÕs
father: AKC CH Fastbreaks Say
Anything (ÒDobbsÓ): Dobbs took back-to back majors (5 point and 4 point) at the
highly competitive Crown Classic in Cleveland in December 2003. He is UKC pointed, and has never been
rated less than Excellent under the UKC breeder judges. Eric Desschans, a renowned breeder and
judge from Belgium, rated Dobbs as Excellent + at the 2002 UKC Premier. At that show, with a large entry, Dobbs
was Reserve to all varieties (at UKC shows, the 4 Belgian Shepherd varieties,
Tervueren, Malinois, Groenendael, and Laekenois can be shown--all 4 varieties
were present at the Premier).
Dobbs possesses beautiful type and structure. He has a wonderful temperament--he is very social with
people and other dogs, and is a loving family companion. His hips, elbows, and
eyes are all normal. He is in
excellent health, as are his littermates.
Dobbs represents a linebreeding on the great grey dog and top producing
sire, RE CH Ares du Bois du Tot (France).
Dobbs' father, UKC
Ag1 CH Omega du Bois du Tot, CGC, TDI (France) is a strikingly beautiful grey
dog. He has excellent structure
and bone, outstanding type, and a wonderful temperament. Omega is a calm, steady, smart dog, who
is willing to do whatever is asked of him. He is a conformation champion, has a title in agility,
passed the Canine Good Citizen Test, and passed the temperament test for
Therapy Dogs International. Through
the generosity of his owner, we had the privilege of having Omega stay with us
during the week of the breeding to Dobb's mother. We could not have had a more perfect houseguest. He got along well with us, all of our
dogs (male and female), and our cats.
We love him! Omega has
produced exceptionally well with a variety of lines in the U.S.
Dobbs' paternal grandfather, sr UKC Ag1,Gr CH Jairouk de la Fureur du
Crepuscule, PT, JHD(France), is another outstanding grey, who has produced well
in the U.S. He has earned the
coveted sr (sujet recommande) from
the French club at the French Specialty, and the conformation title of UKC
Grand Champion against stiff competition under breeder-judges at UKC shows. He
was Best in Specialty at the 2001 UBSDA National Specialty under French judge,
Michel Griol and British judge Amanda MacLaren. Jairouk also has agility and herding titles.
Dobbs' paternal
great-grandfather is the famous RE CH Gourou du Crepuscule des Loups, HCT
(France) . Gourou spent about
a year in the U.S. with Pat Morgan
of Winjammer kennels, and she
showed him to UKC Grand champion, AKC Champion, and herding instinct titles. The RE (Reproducteur Elite) shows
that he has been a top producer in France, but Gourou also proved to be a top
producer during his short time in the U.S., where he was combined with mostly
American lines.
Dobbs' paternal
grandmother, sr Hekla du Bois du Tot, (France) is from a very famous breeding,
RE Carey x RE Daphne. Hekla has a
number of famous siblings, including the males RE UKC CH Hades du Bois du Tot,
HT, HCT (we have an outstanding litter from him) and RE CH Giono du Bois du
Tot. Hekla was awarded CAC and
Best Female Tervuren at the 1994 French National Specialty under breeder-judge
Mme Berton-Sarlat.
Dobbs' mother, AKC CH Uma du
Domaine Ponti (Wren), came to us from Belgium at 8 weeks of age. She was a wonderful companion to our
family. Wren was a beautiful
combination of outstanding type, structure, and temperamentÑa combination of traits
that is very difficult to find in one dog. She earned her AKC championship with 3 majors (4, 4 and 5
points), where her overall quality was recognized by all-breed judges. Wren also received multiple Excellent
ratings from breeder-specialist judges at UKC shows, including Eric Desschans
of Belgium. She was UKC
major-pointed. Wren
was the product of a linebreeding on the outstanding top-producing dog, RE
IntÕl CH Grimm van de Hoge Laer (Belgium). Her father, sr CH Sherpa, van de Hoge Laer (Belgium), is a
Dutch Specialty winner. Another
outstanding dog and top producer,
RE CH Ares du Bois du Tot (France) is in the 3rd generation of her
pedigree.
About SugarÕs mother,
Xola des Terres Bergeres: When we visited Belgium for the first time, we had the
opportunity to meet the dogs of des Terres Bergeres kennel, and their breeders,
Joke and Serge De Wilde. Joke and Serge were very generous in showing us their
dogs, and in sharing their time and knowledge. We feel that they breed the best
Groenendael we have seen, but they also breed beautiful Tervuren. During our
visit, we fell in love with sr Farouche de la Douce Plaine (France), who is
Xola's mother. Farouche is every bit as lovely as her pedigree would
predict--she has an outgoing, friendly temperament, excellent structure, a
short body with a very elegant outline, with a beautiful length of neck--she is
a striking, deep red fawn. We saw Farouche later when she was 10 years of age,
and she was still going strong. We love to see older dogs hold their quality!
Xola's father,
RE CH Pavot van de Hoge Laer (Belgium), is a top producer Europe, having
combined well with a variety of lines. There are also top Groenendael in Xola's
line, behind Re Bellman du Perigord Vert.
Xola is everything we
could have wished for. She has outstanding structure, a beautiful, elegant
outline with wonderful length of neck, excellent head and expression, with a
very eager to please temperament.
Her hips, elbows, and eyes are all normal, and she is in excellent
health. Xola learned basic
obedience very quickly. Xola has had limited showing, all at UKC shows. She
earned an Excellent rating each time. The shows were 1)As a puppy, UBSDA
National Specialty, Eric Desschans (Belgium), judge: Excellent rating 2) at 1
year of age, UBSDA National Specialty, Mme Berton-Sarlat (France), judge:
Excellent rating--one of 6 pulled in a large class 3) At 3 years of age, 2001
UBSDA National Specialty, Michel Griol (France) judge: Excellent rating, pulled
in a large class 4) Also at 3 years of age Carnation City UKC show, Ann Mac Kay
(U.S.), judge: Excellent rating and First in class.
The E x Sugar breeding represents a line
breeding on the best of France and Belgium. These dogs appear on both parentsÕ sides of the pedigree:
1. The great top-producing pair of RE
Carey du Bois du Tot and RE Daphne du Castel dÕArgences (behind RE CH Hades du
Bois du Tot, and HadesÕ sister, sr Hekla du Bois du tot).
2. The beautiful, top producing Tervuren
RE Int'l CH Grimm van de Hoge Laer is behind both Dobbs and Xola (behind
Fitzroy del Varco, Iamin van de Hoge laer, sr CH Sherpa van de Hoge Laer, Pepsi
du Domaine Ponti, and RE CH Millo van de Hoge Laer). GrimmÕs parents were the great, top producing RE CH Beggy of
the Two and sr Zarka of the Two.
RE Beggy also appears additional times on both sides of the pedigree.
3. The top producing
grey bitch, RE Tiakie du Sart des Bois appears behind RE Carey du Bois du Tot
and other dogs on both sides of the pedigree. Re Teksa du Sart des Bois(RE CH
Ares du Bois du Tot's mother), TiakieÕs sister, is also on both sides of the
pedigree, behind RE CH Ares du Bois du Tot. RE CH Ares du Bois du Tot is RE Daphne du Castel dÕArgenceÕs

4. Tiakie and Teksa's
father was the great, top producing Groenendael, RE CH Olrick du Chemin des
Dames.
