About Fastbreak:
We have had the privilege of owning and loving Tervuren since
1972. Lisa is a 28 year member of the American Belgian
Tervuren Club; Gale and Lisa belong to the United Belgian Shepherd
Dog Association. Lisa is also a member of the Belgian Sheepdog
Club of Canada and the Club Francais du Chien de Berger Belge
(the French club for all 4 varieties), and the URCBB
(Belgian Shepherd Club of Belgium). Gale is a member of NVBH
(Belgian Shepherd Club of the Netherlands)
In 1988 we established the Fastbreak line
of Belgian Tervuren, and are just produced our 5th generation puppies.
We have long studied the pedigrees of the dogs of Europe, and
in 1994, we started to import individuals from what we think
are the best of those lines. Our goal is to linebreed to the best
of Europe, and to incorporate this into our original line.
Although our breeding program is small, and we breed on average
about once a year, we have produced multiple champions, obedience
titles through UD, tracking titles, herding titles, and agility
titles. Dogs of our breeding have placed in and won the Herding
group; have gone Select at National Specialties; and have won
specialty sweepstakes. Fastbreak dogs have been ranked in the top 10 nationally
in Conformation, Agility, and Herding. Most important of all, we breed for dogs
that are loving family companions.
We have had a variety of training and showing experiences with
our Tervs since 1972, in both conformation and performance
areas. We have shown and finished multiple conformation champions;
trained and trialed in obedience, earning degrees up to and including
UD; trained ,trialed and have earned herding titles on ducks,
sheep, goats, and cattle; trained and shown in agility; trained
in tracking. We both have a strong background in learning theory
and behavioral intervention through our graduate training in school
psychology. This has been of great benefit to us in problem solving
and in using a creative, positive training approach with our dogs.
The goal for our breeding program is to produce versatile Tervs
who are family companions with correct type, sound structure,
and working temperament. Our puppies are well socialized and raised
in the home. All of our dogs are house dogs. We strongly feel
that our puppies should be placed in homes where they will be
a part of the family and not be left out in a kennel or backyard.
Both pet and show puppies are guaranteed through a contract. Pet
puppies are sold with a spay-neuter provision in the contract.
