It seemed appropriate that Yukina would chose to marry Kazuma Kuwabara during a particularly heavy snowstorm; afterall, she was an ice demon and naturally loved winter. She always marveled at the way the frozen dew clung to the flowers Kurama worked so hard to preserve around Genkai's temple. Kuwabara loved the way she stuck out her small pink tongue to try and catch snowflakes as he walked with her through the temple gardens on snowy nights. He'd always try to capture that moist treasure with one last goodnight kiss. The Koorime simply adored the tall, noisy, carrot-top with all her heart and knew she had found her soul mate, even if he was a Ningen. With their wedding fast approaching, however, she felt an uncharacteristic uneasiness as she went about finalizing the plans.
The unexpected snowstorm had decided to make its presence known just as the guests arrived at the rehearsal dinner being held at Genkai's temple. The guest list had been kept to their close friends, albeit from different worlds, and most could attend this dinner. The happy couple had spared no expense in arranging for the lovely dinner that would be enjoyed by all the guests. They would return the next day to attend the wedding ceremony performed by Genkai. Yukina and Kuwabara, being 'of age,' registered downtown with the Marriage Board, and anxiously counted the final days to their nuptials.
Keiko and Shizuru had hoped to give their sea-green-coifed friend a bridal shower, but instead settled on helping the soon-to-be-marrieds find a nicer apartment than Kuwabara kept near the temple. As their gift, they would spring for the first month's rent. The boys, on the other hand, treated their teammate to dinner and had managed to get Kuwabara quite drunk the night before. And, though he put on a good face, the redheaded Ningen had a nasty buzzing sound vibrating through his head as he greeted his guests.
"Oi, Kuwabara, you look like shit!" Yuusuke said as he entered the temple with Keiko. Yuusuke's purposefully loud greeting caused Kuwabara to cringe. "Ya' still look a little green around the gills, 'Kuwa-chan'!" the Reikai Tentai teased, giving his friend an elbow in the gut just to bring the point home. If Kuwabara hadn't been so happy about getting married, Yuusuke might have had to make an appointment with the dentist.
"Yeah, well," Kuwabara shuddered, closing the door behind them, "could you keep the volume down. Genkai doesn't like a lot of noise in here." Yuusuke squinted up at his somewhat woozy friend with a chuckle.
"Right," he smiled, and shook his head. "Couldn't possibly be a hangover, ne?" Yuusuke teased. Keiko gave him a little pinch on the back of the arm. "Ow! Oi, Keiko, itai!" Yuusuke growled. Keiko gave him 'that look' as she put her hands on her hips.
"And just who could possibly be responsible for that?" she glared.
Yuusuke held up his hands in innocent protest. "Ch, it's not just my fault! I wasn't the only one there, y'know. Kurama was there, too," Yuusuke complained, pointing to Hiei and Kurama, who had arrived a few minutes earlier. Hiei had refused to join in the 'festivities,' so Kurama represented them both, drinking Hiei's share of the sake as well. Except for a little pink flush to his nose, Kurama seemed none the worse for wear.
All the guests were led into a beautiful part of the temple they had never seen before; this was where the wedding would take place. To Yukina's pleasant surprise, Kurama offered to sprout some exotic foliage for this special occasion. It would be his gift to the couple, along with a lovely bouquet for the bride. While the guests "ooh'd" and "aah'd" at the wonderful buffet set for them, Hiei hung back, hands stuffed in his pockets, trying to blend in with the intricate wall fixtures. It didn't get by his lover, however. Kurama made up two plates and found the fuming little fire demon leaning up against the paneling by the door.
"You can forget about escaping, koibito," Kurama chuckled softly, handing Hiei a plate of food. "I'll just drag you back in, so pretend to enjoy yourself." Then, with an almost inaudible whisper, he said, "For your sister's sake."
"Hn," the crimson-eyed demon muttered. "Only for her..."
Kurama glanced down at his favorite curmudgeon and gently squeezed the back of Hiei's neck with a slight shake. Hiei squinted a red eye up at his human/Youko lover with a "Ch."
Kuwabara, having eaten three servings of everything and now feeling quite recovered from the imbibing of the previous evening, was now brave enough to raise a new sake glass, encouraging his friends to join in the toast.
"To all my Tomodachi! I'm so happy you will join us as we become husband and wife tomorrow," the redhead crowed as sake and dessert were being served. Hiei growled with a shudder. "And to my lovely bride-to-be...Yukina-san." Kuwabara took the Koorime's tiny hand into his and pressed her fingers to his lips. "I promise to make you the happiest bride in all the Ningenkai, Reikai, and Makai!" Yukina blushed fiercely as she hugged her sweetheart around the neck. Cheers of congratulations filled the room as the guests raised their sake glasses. All except Hiei. Even during the meal he refrained from speaking to anyone, choosing instead to watch his sister from his secluded corner of the room.
Yukina smiled sweetly as she glanced around at the cheerful faces. She then cleared her throat and asked for silence. Kuwabara frowned at this sudden show of assertiveness from his tiny love.
"Onegai shimasu, I'd like to say something," the scarlet-eyed Koorime said loudly. "I have an announcement to make, too." All eyes were fixed on the ice demon, except Hiei's, who chose instead to look at his feet. She turned to Kuwabara, took both his hands and looked deeply into his eyes.
"I've decided..." she began, her voice hesitant. "I've decided...to stop searching...for my brother." Kurama softly caught his breath. Hiei looked up and stared at Yukina. Yuusuke tilted his head with a frown and glanced over at Hiei. "I want to devote all my time to making the rest of our lives happy, so...I've decided to close this chapter in my life...and move on," her voice trailed away. Kuwabara thought he saw tears forming in her eyes, but she blinked them back.
"To the rest of our lives," he said, kissing her hands, beaming. She smiled back at him, then stood on tiptoe to give him a loving kiss.
All of a sudden, Genkai clapped her hands, startling the guests. Hiei shuddered a moment, as if caught in a trance. "It's time for everyone to go to their own homes and let the couple rest up for tomorrow. Hurry along, now." She shooed the friends towards the door like a mother hen gathering her brood. "We'll see you all at noon."
"Arigatou, minna-san, for coming tonight," Yukina said, bowing slightly. She looked around the room for Hiei, but all she saw was the back of his cloak and a swirl of snow as he fled out the main door. Kurama bid his farewells and hurried after him.
Yuusuke slapped Kuwabara on the back. "C'mon, bachelor. I'll tuck you in on your last night of freedom!" Keiko and Shizuru rolled their eyes and headed towards the door.
"Sleep well, my love!" Yukina shouted as she waved at her intended. Yuusuke had to pull the kiss-blowing groom-to-be out of the temple for the long walk into town. The snow was beginning to pile up on the path and against the side of the temple.
The lovers walked in stony silence from Genkai's temple to their apartment complex. Occasionally Kurama would let his arm brush against Hiei's cloak, hoping for some sort of reaction. But the fire demon stared straight ahead, hands firmly entrenched in his pockets, refusing to acknowledge the subtle show of affection. Kurama silently put the key into the lock, and before he had the chance to turn on the lights, Hiei had pulled him down for a passionate kiss.
"Umph!" Kurama barely mumbled, his lips being ravenously devoured, his clothing practically being torn from his body. Hiei pushed the door shut with his heel, and the two stumbled onto the living room floor, knocking over a table and lamp before the fire demon landed on top of his startled lover.
"Hiei...wait...wait..." Kurama gasped as his shirt was awkwardly pulled over his head. "We can do this all night...just give me a chance to..." but his words were silenced again by the desperate Koorime. Hiei was pulling his own clothing off, tearing at the black tank top, wanting, needing to feel Kurama's bare skin against his small body. He kissed Kurama's face, neck, and chest while he pulled at his silky hair, not wanting to let go.
Kurama could feel Hiei's arousal pressing against his own. However, this sudden passionate display, although rather exciting, just didn't feel right. It wasn't normal for Hiei to be this forceful or aggressive without some sort of warning or provocation. Kurama could only hang on and see just how far Hiei would take this session. Hiei rubbed himself against Kurama's stomach while he tightly weaved his fingers through Kurama's hair, lips locked in a deep kiss. Hiei began to whimper as he kissed Kurama. The youko suddenly felt his lover's lips tremble and the compact, muscular body begin to shake. Hiei broke the kiss and buried his face in Kurama's hair. It was then that Kurama realized Hiei was crying, large crystal tears coalescing into tear gems in his red mane and falling onto the carpet. Kurama hugged Hiei tightly and began to stroke his soft, spiky hair, whispering words of comfort to the sobbing Koorime.
"Shh, it's okay, koibito, I'm here." Kurama rocked them both while he gently rubbed the small of Hiei's back.
"I love her..." Hiei's voice choked, muffled against Kurama's hair.
"I know you do. I know."
"Don't you ever leave me," Hiei pleaded, as he squeezed his lover even tighter. Kurama felt several tear gems slide off his shoulder as he kissed his lover's hair.
"Hiei," Kurama said. Getting no answer, he spoke a bit louder. "Koibito, look at me, dozo." Kurama wiggled so his back was up against the sofa and pulled Hiei into his lap. Hiei only clung tighter. Kurama felt tears well in his own eyes as he listened to the fire demon's choked sobs. Kurama had comforted Hiei a few times in the past, but this time the Koorime's weeping was different. It sounded like the sobs of an abandoned child.
"You're breaking my heart, koibito," the youko whispered, kissing Hiei on the forehead.
Hiei looked up at his partner, eyes swollen and streaming with tears, his small face so full of sadness that it made Kurama wince.
"Oh, baby. She's not leaving you. But you've got to tell her," Kurama said, wiping some of the moisture off his lover's cheeks with a tender caress. "Otherwise, what would this have been for?" Kurama glanced up at the covered Jagan. Hiei leaned his forehead against his lover's cheek.
"I c-can't," Hiei said, his voice cracking. "I swore I'd never tell her."
Kurama took Hiei by the shoulders and held him at arm's length, looking deeply into his sad eyes. "Listen to me, Hiei. That scumbag who implanted this Jagan, he's long gone. You owe no allegiance to his memory." Hiei was taking small gasps of air as his lover's logic fell on deaf ears. He roughly wiped at his sore eyes as his mind remembered the pain of the implantation, and promises made in blood.
"You got that damned thing because you promised yourself you'd never give up looking for her," Kurama tried to explain, though Hiei wouldn't maintain eye contact.
"She's given up..." Hiei whispered.
"But you can't. Let her know tomorrow, before the wedding, so she can start her life with Kuwabara knowing she has a loving brother by her side."
"I don't know...I don't think I can...not now," Hiei said, daring to look into his lover's warm emerald eyes. "Now that she's...she's..." Hiei dejectedly shook his head.
"I'll be there with you," Kurama said, taking Hiei's small face into his hands, giving his nose a kiss. Kurama rubbed his fingers lightly across the covered Jagan. The fire demon swallowed hard with a sigh, and wiped his face with his bandaged arm. "You don't have to do this alone."
"I'll think about it," Hiei answered with a stubborn sniffle.
Kurama gently stroked Hiei's arms. Then, with a chuckle, he held Hiei's small chin in his fingers.
"Your emotions were a little on the fritz tonight, koibito," he said with a smile. "You...expressed yourself...in a rather interesting way." Hiei blinked his moist eyes a few times, glanced around at the wreck that once was their living room, then looked down at their almost naked bodies.
"K'so..." Hiei blushed.
"Don't worry about it, koibito. I'll clean this up in the morning," Kurama said, as he started to rise.
"Kurama!" Hiei grabbed his lover's arm and pulled him back down. The youko looked at his partner with a frown.
"Kurama..." Hiei stammered, suddenly feeling very shy. He studied his lover's beautiful face as he moved a few stray crimson strands out of the way. "Yukina is the second most precious thing in my life," the Koorime whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "You are...the most..." Hiei's eyes looked back and forth into Kurama's, searching. "Would you...would you make love to me...onegai shimasu?"
Kurama's eyes sparkled in the darkness of their apartment. He leaned forward and slowly kissed each of the Koorime's damp eyes. "You don't even have to ask," he whispered. He scooped the smaller demon into his arms and carried him into their bedroom. The fire demon clung tightly around Kurama's neck and wrapped his legs around the youko's waist. Kurama would make sure that Hiei would not feel abandoned tonight.
"Nii-chan!" a squeaky female voice shouted. "Nii-chan, stop that, or I'll tell 'kaasan!!"
"Nuh-uh! Can't make me!" came the taunting young male voice in reply along with maniacal laughter. Threats to his continued life on earth quickly followed the cry of someone having just had snow put down her coat.
The young children's voices caused Hiei's eyes to flutter open. He turned toward the balcony window and listened intently as the sound of the neighbor's offspring-at-play in the common yard woke him from his slumber. It was still snowing, though lightly, and the rays of morning light softly filtered in through the curtains. Hiei closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, feeling the warmth of his lover's body curled next to him. He glanced down at the redhead, tucked into a ball against his side, and exhaled slowly. As he listened to the brother and sister play, fight, and play again, he smiled. Brother and Sister.
Letting Kurama sleep a little longer, Hiei knitted his fingers behind his head as he found himself at odds with his natural instincts. Normally, the Koorime would have simply avoided any stressful situation that involved emotion. The redhead sleeping peacefully next to him had definitely altered that trait, perhaps forever. He chewed on his lip and thought about what he would have to do today, how he would deal with a very personal dilemma - and in front of people other than his loving youko.
The kitsune stirred, the light and sounds of morning having tickled his senses. He slowly opened his large emerald eyes and began a very cat-like stretch. Feeling Hiei's warm body against his back, Kurama glanced over his shoulder and smiled sweetly.
"Ohayo..." the youko's sleepy voice whispered as he rolled over to face Hiei with a hug. Kurama settled back down for a morning snuggle with a contented sigh. Hiei wrapped one arm around his partner's shoulder, took his other hand, and lightly touched the tip of the redhead's nose. The playful kitsune scrunched up his features and crossed his eyes in an effort to see the scratchy digit.
Hiei grinned, then caught his composure, but Kurama wasn't going to let this end here. He teasingly went to bite the slender finger, but of course missed, due to the finely honed reflexes of the Koorime.
"Baka," Hiei whispered, looking down at Kurama's sleepy face.
"Only for you, koibito," came the redhead's response. Kurama's slender arms gave the fire demon a gentle squeeze. Hiei began to absent-mindedly twirl some crimson strands between his fingers, eyes staring but unfocused as he thought about the task at hand. Kurama wiggled up and buried his face in Hiei's neck as more light filled the bedroom. Hiei closed his eyes as he felt Kurama's warm, sweet breath dance lightly across his throat. He had the overwhelming feeling that he never wanted to leave the security of their futon again. He rolled the kitsune onto his back and molded his body on top of his lover's, burying his face in Kurama's neck. Kurama ran his smooth hands across Hiei's back, resting one on the Koorime's round rump. Hiei moaned in pleasure.
"Hiei," Kurama whispered musically. No answer.
"Hiei?" he said a bit louder, holding the first syllable a little longer this time.
"Five more minutes," came the muffled response, as Hiei resettled. The Ningen began to chuckle.
"Hiei, we have to get up." He glanced over at the clock radio whose illuminated time was an annoying reminder that they would have to be at Genkai's temple in a short while. After mumbling a half-hearted growl, the smaller youkai lifted himself off his lover and sat on the edge of the futon, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Kurama watched as Hiei stared out the balcony window with a sigh.
"Have you decided what you're going to say to her today?" he asked, as gently as possible. Hiei stared for a moment longer, then shook his head.
"Iie." Hiei's voice was barely audible. Kurama moved to sit behind his lover. He wrapped his arms around him, resting his head against his lover's back.
"You know I'm here, Hiei," the kitsune said earnestly. "You know you don't have to do this alone."
"I know," he replied, patting his lover's hands. "Demo, I think I have to." He turned and looked at Kurama's concerned face. The youko smiled warmly and gently stroked Hiei's cheek. The fire demon suddenly blushed.
"Kitsune," he stammered, "about last night. I...uhm...I want to..." Kurama put a finger against Hiei's lips.
"Shh!" Kurama scolded, lightly kissing Hiei's soft lips. Then he leaned his forehead against Hiei's warm Jagan.
"Never apologize for that. Never apologize for needing me." Kurama's eyes sparkled, then he kissed Hiei deeply. "Never," the redhead whispered one more time. Hiei smiled meekly at the reprimand, feeling his blush fade. "Now, c'mon," Kurama chirped. "We have a wedding to go to," and he headed into the bathroom.
Hiei sat for a few more minutes and listened to the children playing. When he heard the sound of the shower come on, a thin, black eyebrow rose mischievously.
"Well," Hiei thought to himself, "I might as well go clean," and padded into the bathroom. As the shower door slid open and shut, a certain amount of giggling came rising up through the steam.
Genkai's temple was beautifully decorated in the most luscious flowers ever seen in the Ningenkai, especially considering that it was the dead of winter. Kurama had certainly outdone himself this time, conjuring up flowers that filled the senses with their aromas and vibrant colors. Yukina was all a flutter, making sure everyone was comfortable and well tended. Botan and Koenma had arrived with George in tow and were making their greetings. Hiei had tried several times to approach Yukina and get her off to the side, but something always interrupted their privacy, and the fire demon was becoming visibly nervous. Yuusuke pulled Kurama to the side while Hiei was busy talking to Genkai about a new maneuver the Reikai Tentai were going to learn after the honeymooners returned.
"Do you think she knows?" the Urameshi Team leader whispered, making sure he was out of ear-shot of the fire demon. "I wonder if Hiei is finally gonna' tell her. I mean, it's her wedding day an' all."
"I don't know. I hope so," Kurama whispered back, nervously fidgeting with something in his pocket. "Excuse me, dozo, but I want to say something to Yukina before we get started."
"You're not gonna' tell her, are you?" Yuusuke asked, eyes wide.
"Iie," Kurama shook his head. "I just want to give her something before we get started, that's all," he smiled convincingly and went over to Yukina, who was standing with Keiko and Shizuru. Kurama whispered in Yukina's ear, and the little youkai made her apologies to the girls and followed him into the kitchen. They came out a few minutes later, Yukina giving Kurama a light kiss on the cheek with a smile. Kurama simply nodded, then went to rescue Hiei from George's chatter about all the paper work waiting for him back in the Reikai. Genkai came forward and announced that the ceremony would begin in five minutes and that they should gather around.
Yukina politely made her way through the ceremony room and silently came up behind Hiei, tapping him the shoulder. Hiei turned and stared at her. Kurama asked George to tell him about the new computer system he was installing and the blue Oni's face lit up as they moved away from the two small demons. It was now or never.
"Yukina-san, I...uhm...you see, there's something I...want..." Yukina took Hiei by the hand into an alcove, away from the other guests.
"Hiei-sama," Yukina began softly. "I have something I want to show you." She reached into the pocket of her wedding kimono and pulled out a small velvet box. "This is for you," she said, lifting Hiei's hand in hers and putting the object into his palm. Hiei stared into familiar crimson eyes, then looked down the small package. He opened it slowly.
Inside, nestled in the tiny pillow, was a crystal tear gem on a strand of silver. Hiei looked up at Yukina with a frown.
"I was saving this...for my brother," she whispered.
Hiei's eyes widened.
"Did Kurama tell you..."
"Iie, niisan," Yukina smiled, eyes bright with tears. "I figured it out awhile ago. That's why I said I don't have to search anymore." Yukina lightly touched Hiei's Jagan, then his cheek. "I found you." Hiei felt his entire body flush. It felt like a tremendous weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He closed his eyes as painful memories flashed before his mind and then slowly vanished. All he could see now was his sister's smiling face as he opened his eyes. He gently touched his sister on the cheek. Realizing the tear gem was in his hand, he suddenly became embarrassed.
"Demo," Hiei stammered. "I don't...I don't have anything for you."
"Hai, but you do, niisan. Look." From Yukina's other pocket, she took out a small box and opened it. Inside was one of Hiei's tear gems gathered from the night before. Hiei smirked with a chuckle.
"That fox," he whispered. "When I see him, I'll..."
"Iie, niisan," Yukina interrupted. "He thought you couldn't do this on your own. He only gave it to me because he loves you so very much." Hiei blushed and looked deeply into his imouto's ruby eyes. "And I love you, too." The ice demon leaned forward and kissed her brother on the cheek. They each put their precious gifts into their pockets, then Yukina took a deep breath.
"Now, there's one more favor I need of you, niisan," Yukina asked nervously, taking her brother's hands into hers. "It's traditional for the parents of the bride to give her away. Since our parents are gone, would you do me the honor?"
Hiei's mouth opened and closed twice in an effort to respond. Then, smiling for the first time at his 'sister', he simply answered, "Hai."
Taking her by the arm, he led the two of them into the ceremony room. All eyes were fixed on the crimson-eyed couple. Kuwabara looked like he was about to burst with pride.
"Who gives this woman to this man?" Genkai asked. Yukina squeezed Hiei's hand.
"I do," Hiei announced clearly. Everyone turned and stared at the fire demon. "As is my right...as her brother." While other mouths dropped open, Yuusuke winked at Kuwabara, Botan and Koenma smiled, and Kurama beamed with pride. Hiei kissed his sister on the hand and walked her over to the stunned carrot-topped human. He glared a squinted eye at his nemesis with a "Hn," then joined his grinning redhead off to the side. Kuwabara scratched his head.
"That means...that means Hiei will be...my brother-in-law?!?" Kuwabara glared at Yuusuke. "How long have you known?!" Yuusuke shrugged his shoulders sheepishly and was about to offer an explanation when Genkai began chanting the wedding prayer. Yukina smiled up at her intended. The happy human temporarily forgot about brothers and sisters, and now only had thoughts of his beautiful bride. However, other conversations were taking place in different parts of the room.
"I'll get you later," Hiei whispered out the corner of his mouth, giving Kurama an elbow in the side.
"Ooh, I hope so, koibito," Kurama teased back.
As the ceremony came to its conclusion, Yukina stood on tiptoe and kissed the man who had melted her heart and captured her soul. A cheer went up by everyone, except Hiei, and glasses of sake were soon handed out to toast the happy couple. Yuusuke was telling Keiko, after she slugged him in the shoulder, how he had known about the news but just forgot to tell her. Botan and Koenma claimed to have been sworn to secrecy. Genkai and Shizuru claimed to have already guessed, and Kurama simply smiled when asked if he knew.
Kurama and Hiei were the last to leave the temple. The Koorime stopped in the arch that led to the exit path, turned, and faced Kuwabara.
"If you ever hurt my sister, I'll kill you," Hiei hissed, staring at the Ningen.
"Hiei, don't," Kurama said softly, putting his hand on the youkai's arm. Kuwabara straightened his shoulders and stared back at the fire demon.
"If I do ever hurt your sister, then I'll insist that you kill me."
Hiei blinked, and began to speak, but words failed him for a moment. Then, with a slight smirk, he softly said, "Fine."
The snowstorm had subsided to gentle flurries as Kurama and Hiei rounded the corner outside their apartment. Barely 24 hours ago the same walk had a much somber tone. Tonight, Hiei seemed to be floating above the compact snow that crunched under their feet. Yes, the storm definitely had subsided.
"You caught the bouquet, kitsune," Hiei muttered, glancing down at the flowers Kurama had tucked inside his coat. "Doshite?"
"It's a tradition for all unmarried people to try and catch the bride's bouquet, koibito," the fox explained, though the fire demon didn't really seem to be listening. "It means that person will be the next one to get married." Kurama conveniently forgot to mention that traditionally it's the unmarried women who try to catch the lucky prize, but since no one complained at the wedding, he figured he'd just skip that part.
"Hn." Hiei looked up at Kurama's grinning face and simply snorted.
Unlocking the entrance, Kurama couldn't help but tease his lover. "You wanna' wrestle again, koibito?" the Youko winked. "I moved the lamp table out of the way just in case. You said you'd 'get' me."
"Hn," Hiei smirked. "Just get your ass inside the door, kitsune. I want to go to bed."
"Ooh, sounds like fun," Kurama giggled, wiggling his eyebrows. Hiei snorted as he shoved his lover inside their apartment.
They watched each other seductively disrobe, and then crawled under the quilt to snuggle off the chill of the apartment. Kurama pulled Hiei's body close against his, enjoying the warmth the Koorime could produce so quickly with his ki.
The slender human slowly kissed every inch of Hiei's adorable little face, whispering as he worked.
"That was such a nice ceremony, ne?"
"Hn." Hiei kept his eyes closed as Kurama kissed his Jagan, his eyebrows, and his lids.
"And it was so sweet how Kuwabara couldn't keep his hands off Yukina afterwards."
"Hn!" A thin black eyebrow rose above a squinted crimson eye.
"Hiei! Even you have to appreciate how much Kuwabara loves Yukina," Kurama remarked, gently tickling his lover, though getting no response.
"Hn."
"And now they can know 'wedded bliss'," Kurama sighed. Hiei frowned.
"'Wedded Bliss'...what the hell is 'wedded bliss'?" Kurama felt two rubies staring at him in the dark.
"You know, married life, wedded bliss. According to the rules of society, now they can have sex." Hiei's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "Hmm," Kurama thought out loud. "I wonder if they'll do what we do?"
Hiei sat straight up in the darkness. A hot red glow began to form around the fire demon. Kurama noted that the futon was suddenly getting very warm.
"I'LL KILL HIM!! I'LL TEAR HIS HEART OUT!! I'LL...I'LL...RIP HIS SPLEEN RIGHT OUT OF..." Kurama began to laugh.
"Oh, c'mon, koibito! You knew your sister was going to have sex with Kuwabara sooner or later." Kurama pulled Hiei back down with a thud, then straddled the little youkai. He pressed his nose against Hiei's and stared into his eyes.
"I don't want to think about it! I don't ever want to think about it." Hiei shuddered and folded his arms with a pout.
"Hiei," Kurama chuckled. "If your sister is half as happy as I am, she's going to be the second luckiest Koorime in existence." Hiei looked at his lover with a snort.
"What is it with my family and oversexed redheads?!" Hiei wondered out loud, pulling on Kurama's side-locks.
"I told you. Luck," giggled the oversexed redhead, nuzzling against Hiei's neck. Hiei flipped the receptive human over onto his back, and pinned him against the pillows.
"I'll show you who's lucky, fox," Hiei mumbled, as he began to suck on Kurama's earlobe, causing his lover to gasp with delight. No thoughts of Yukina and Kuwabara occurred to either demon for the rest of the night.
The End
