The "bump" style game is played like this: Two students share a game board and a set of dice/cubes. Each student needs a set of "players" such as unifix cubes or bingo chips. Each player needs approximately 15 of one color player and his/her partner needs a set in a different color. When you roll the dice, you add/subtract according to the directions and place one of your cubes on the picture above the sum/difference rolled. Take turns playing. If your partner rolls the same number that your cube is on, he/she may "bump" it off! If you roll the same number again, you can put two cubes/chips on that picture and now you "own" it and your partner cannot bump it off and must lose his/her turn if that number is rolled. The game is won if you have more cubes on the board.
The other game involves students working in pairs again. This time each child has his/her own sheet and a marker/crayon. They take turns rolling the cubes/dice and then they add/subtract. They then color the picture on their sheet with the sum/difference that they rolled. If you roll a number that is already colored, you lose a turn. Children take turns and the game is won if you have more pictures colored than your partner.
