Written Summary:

Okay, I have raved a lot so far about this Vee Arnis Jitsu series from ESPY videos. This is the video where Shihan James moves the stuff out of the dojo and into some realistic street situations. Dressed in street clothes, Shihan James goes through a number of possible attack scenarios in an elevator and on a staircase, two common places that an ambush can occur. Many techniques are shown but the point that Shihan James is trying to make is that any art that you study, in order to be truly street effective, must be an art that can fight in any an all ranges. Vee Arnis Jitsu has a great deal of jiu jitsu in it so it is very applicable to close in fighting that can occur in an elevator. It is good at kicking, which can be used to kick an opponent in a stairwell. This segment also gives, as usual, a lot of good advice on how to avoid being caught in these types of situations as well.

After the stairwell and elevator segments, we move the action back into the dojo where Shihan James demonstrates, in depth, the best strategy I have ever seen for a martial artist to deal with an opponent who is skilled in western boxing. Shihan James is correct when he says the number one art you are likely to face on the street is a boxer. I am not going to reveal the strategy here because you have to see Shihan James teach this to get full benefit. But if you buy this tape and really work on this boxing defense, you should be able to handle yourself against most boxers you are likely to encounter.

This is another great video from David James and Professor Vee. One gets to see the practical street side of Vee Arnis Jitsu. This tape is a definite must have for any martial artist and the segment on boxing defense alone is worth the price of the entire 6 tapes series in my opinion. Any martial artist who is honest with himself knows that dealing with a skilled boxer is the worst nightmare any body can face ( other than weapons ). So go buy the tape.
