Written Summary:
Are you concerned that
the current grappling " craze " has made your own martial arts skill obsolete
? Does it seem that every martial artist these days is trying to learn " how
to grapple " in order to keep up with the current fad ? If these things have
bothered you, then this tape is for you. Leave it to Tony Blauer to help put this
grappling business in a proper perspective relative to street self defense. Tony
Blauer does not de-emphasize the importance of learning to fight on the ground nor
does he de-emphasize the dangers in facing someone skilled in a grappling art ( BJJ,
Shootfighting, even college wrestling ). Instead, this tape gives you the concepts
and training methods to deal with an opponent in the street who elects to "
grapple " with you.
This tape is absolutely loaded with information.
It begins with Mr. Blauer talking briefly about the psychological components of street
situations ( which is his signature material in my opinion ) and moves into the first
volume ( about 1 hour ) which focuses on forcing the fight to stay standing. Mr.
Blauer, quite reasonably, explains why and how not to go the ground if given a choice.
The second volume discusses what to do if you should end up on the ground. Concept
after concept come at you in this video. I have watched several of Tony Blauer's
videos and I can only wonder " Why isn't this guy famous ? Why isn't this guy
on network TV talking about this stuff ?". Seriously folks, if you're interested
in learning about groundfighting ( not " grappling " according to Mr.Blauer
) and street self defense, then you must have this video. No question about it.
