Written Summary:
This video by Peyton
Quinn is intended to be a supplemental video to the previously reviewed " Defending
Against The Sucker Punch ". Mr. Quinn makes the point that the information
on this video is more of an advanced nature than on " Sucker Punch ".
The information presented is good, I want to be very clear on that point. I simply
felt that the video scripting was rather haphazard and the instructors seemed to
pull techniques at random. There was no logical progression of techniques and no
" why " as to why certain techniques were being presented.
This
video would probably be of most benefit to intermediate and beginning students because
the concepts that are introduced are very important ( not contesting power with power,
continuous attack, blending with the attacker ). I feel that most advanced students
in any martial arts would at least be familiar with these concepts already. The
video is very reasonably priced and is a sound purchase on that point alone
I
want to emphasize that in all video reviews, the writer of the review brings all
of his personal experience, bias, and martial arts (in)experience to the review process.
I make no claims of knowing all there is to know about the martial arts and want
the readers of any of these reviews to keep in mind that anything that is said in
the review process is only " one man's opinion ". I am a big fan of Peyton
Quinn and my previous reviews show that. This is not a bad video but there are better
ones available from Peyton Quinn ( see previous reviews ).
