Written Summary:
This is the
2nd video tape on Russian Sambo Wrestling by Nicholas Starks. On this video Mr. Starks
really shows some unique techniques that many people will not be familiar with.
Although this video tape scored the same as his 1st video on Russian Sambo Wrestling
I personally liked this
video better than his first tape because the material
presented was so different. After watching this tape the next time you grapple with
your partner you may be able to surprise him with a few different moves that he won't
expect.
On the negative side I also felt that a few of the techniques would
be hard to execute on a moving and resisting opponent. Most of the techniques were
workable, especially with some practise, but a few let me saying, "There is
NO way that will work on anyone that has even a small amount of grappling know how"
Overall this tape would be good for someone who is looking for different material
but doesn't want to spend alot of money doing it.
Here is some of what I saw
on this video:
1. Triangle Arm Lock with Choke
2. Reverse Calf Squeeze
3. Heel Twist
4. Calf & Heel Submission
5. Passing the Guard into a
Knee Bar
6. Elevator Counter to Leg Submission/with Calf Squeeze
7. Key Lock
on Foot
8. Rolling Knee Bar from Quarter Position
9. Rolling Achilles Tendon
from Quarter Position
10. Spin Around Knee Bar
11. Hammer Lock with Arm &
Wristlock
12. Hammer Lock Guilliotine Choke
13. Scissor Choke
14. 69 Choke
15.
69 Shoulder Break
16. Rolling Knee Lock from Guard
17. Counter to the Above
18.
Counter to the Counter (above)
19. Counter to the Mount
20. Neck Crank with
Pain Compliance
21. Hammer Lock Ninja Roll
22. Rolling Knee Bar with Ankle
Lock
23. Knee Bar Variation using Barrell Roll
24. Falling Arm Bar (very cool!)
25.
Variation of a Choke from Quarter Position (3 sub-techniques)
26. Leg Grapevine
falling into a Calf Squeeze
27. Catch Position/Shin Choke (my personal favorite!)
28.
Around the World (unlocks arm bar block)
29. Variation of the Short Arm Bar/Wrist
Lock
30. Smothering Technique
