Written Summary:

Mousel's simple description of this video is dead-on accurate. It's about incorporating Focus Mitt training into MMA. Although that sounds simple and obvious, its really not, especially the way Mousel presents it. Mousel shows us how to do this with our training partner, in just about every way imaginable: while your partner is rushing you, tackling you, you doing all that to him, defending yourself from the ground while he's standing, either of your kicking and punching from the ground, you mounting him, him mounting you, on-and-on. Mousel makes it realistically dynamic, in that your partner is allowed to try and do certain surprise things, and you can too. With those dynamics, I think many a person will have new tools to bridge the gap, and create better timing, with regard to their transitioning from striking-to-grappling (and back).

For many schools that are constantly trying to figure a way to safely incorporate striking with grappling, I would consider this to be the closest thing I've seen to the "missing link", that will show you how to SAFELY pull-off striking/grappling training with students of any age or gender.

As a viewer, I felt that every minute I was shown 1-2 new drills. The video by itself is truly eye opening, but its the additional ideas a person can create just watching it, that I think provides a much greater benefit. For most people, there should be no shortage of training ideas, once you watch this and start thinking outside-the-box.

Bottomline, I highly recommend this video to anyone that's wondered how to safely combine striking with grappling for students of any age or gender.
