Written Summary:
One of the arts I've trained in for some time now is
Judo. Finding a comprehensive judo series, that covers all rank requirements,
plus provides a good amount of extras, is near impossible to find. In fact, I
think it's fair to say that Keith Schwartz is the only person that's created
this comprehensive of a series for that.
I saw this 17 tape/dvd series mentioned at another site and given a bad review. From what I saw, it didn't appear that a person with any significant judo rank or experience, gave that assessment. It looked more like a non-judo grappler, who hasn't really pursued the sport aspect of judo, gave that assessment. I must say that I'm not the only one who disagrees with that other sites opinion. Bottomline, my judo teacher, Bert Becerra, a REAL USJA/USJI JUDO 7th Dan, and myself, have both looked over this 17 tape series, and unanimously agree "it's the best and most comprehensive judo rank requirement series on the market". And Mr. Becerra told me, "Be sure and say in your reviews that I saw it and think it's a great series"! It is packed with hundreds of techniques, and when you mix-and-match them, that amount becomes even larger!
And even better is the price! Century sells each of the 17 tapes/dvds for the low price of $9.99 each.
So here we have the ONLY video series on-the-market, that covers all the major techniques for each judo rank (USJA), each tape/dvd is only $9.99, I saw it, so did my Judo instructor, and we both agree it's a great resource and bargain!
Here's a summary of what you get on each tape. Sorry about it being in "all caps", but that's the way I found it on another site. I even called Century, asking if they had this anywhere and their sales manager said "We can't find in any of our records the descriptions like that". I suspect Panther originally did the descriptions shown below. In any case, sorry about it being in "all-caps", but I'm not going to spend hours re-typing it.
