Written Summary:

Tape 12 is the last tape in this series and is dedicated to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu drills. I thought this tape was great! It is a great way to improve many of your basic skills. Personally I am always looking for new drills to add to my classes. If your an Instructor and are looking for some new material you should consider getting this tape. This a good chance to improve your skills and keep your students interested.

Here is what you will find on this video:

- arm bar drill from the guard

- triangle drill from the guard

- arm bar from the mount

- keylock from the mount

- side control escape drill

- hip escape (3 variations)

- guard pass to mount to umpa

- balance drill

- co-ordination drill for double leg

- drill from the open guard

- armbar in guard to sweep

- open guard to triangle or choice of 2 sweeps

- leg lock drill

If your looking for some new drills to practice or are an Instructor looking to add some new material to your classes get this tape.

As this is the last video of this series here is a basic overview of the entire 12 tape series.

Positive points to this series:

1) Very high Production quality.

2) Detailed and clear presentation of the information by the Instructors. Both Mr. Bass and Mr. Williams come across very well on video.

3) The information is taught very much from a conceptual basis. In my mind this is very important, Mr. Bass and Mr. Williams actually try to make you better. This series is not just about a bunch of random finishing holds. This series will help you understand the ins and outs of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

4) A good portion of the information presented has not been seen on video before. With all of the video tapes currently on the market this is not an easy task these days. Often I found new details were added to some "old moves".

Negative points to this series:

1) Too much wasted time on the introduction and conclusion. There was a total of 11 minutes for the intro. and conclusion. There was also some wasted time in relation to the interviews. I personally liked the interviews mixed in throughout the video’s however they used some of the same interviews on different tapes.

2) I believe that some of the video’s relating to the same subject could of been made on one longer video rather than 2 shorter tapes. An example would be the Attacking from the Guard part 1 and 2 video’s. Without the wasted time these 2 video’s could easily have been on one tape.

3) Price. This series is expensive. If you have the money and can afford these tapes then by all means buy them. I do think the price may be a problem for some consumers.

Bottom Line: Of all of the Sport Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tapes sets that I have seen (I haven’t see them all but have seen a good number of them) this set takes the number 1 spot. No, these video’s aren’t perfect (I haven’t found one yet that is) but if your looking to improve your game (especially beginning and intermediate students) these tapes will help a great deal. I highly recommend them.
